What if suddenly you had a D/s bdsm scene, that included people in it, flash into your minds eye and you just had to bring the scene out into paint, you wanted it hung on your wall, what would your painting be of? You are going to commission someone to paint it, how would you share your vision with the artist so they could capture the essence of it and portray your vision accurately?

Hmmmm....nice question Jali.  Fastlane painting me...as I stand nekkid in front of him.....and then smiling...as the painter captures him going to get the paint remover....Tee Hee Hee.....the sadistic bastard.

trippingdaisy -> RE: To Paint A Picture... (6/19/2006 3:31:03 PM)

Wow...

That's...possibly the most intriguing question i've had to think about in a while. :)

If i wanted a painting of a scene, i believe it would be something simple. Master standing near me, i'm kneeling, blindfolded and bound. If there are other people there, they are in the background, barely seen, because i'd want the focus to be Master, since He is my focus.

How would i express the picture to the painter? i'm not totally without artistic talent, so i'd do a rough sketch. Nothing too detailed or exact...that's for artist interpretation. But i'd draw basic figures, to show where i'd want them to be.

i wish i could have thought of something more imaginative...and i did, but it's not really my 'ideal' scene to have depicted. Mostly, my 'ideal' fantasy scenes are too ...involved or appear too violent to be accurately portrayed. [:)]

I was actually commissioned to paint a portrait of a domme about a year ago. I was quite pleased with it as was she. I painted her in the style of a colonial portrait, rather smug and aloof.

murmur -> RE: To Paint A Picture... (6/19/2006 3:37:14 PM)

wow...such an interesting question... i cant wait to see the other posts! [:)]

for myself...it would only be the painting of two hands tightly intertwined, the feminine hand wearing a fine and thin rope, barely circling the wrist...but still there.

It's not a scene, i know, but it's the first thing that came to my mind when i read the question.

slavejali -> RE: To Paint A Picture... (6/19/2006 3:49:20 PM)

First thing that comes into your mind is good [:)]

Mine was Master standing with his feet apart, probably arms folded, holding a very strong stance, his eyes looking straight ahead, his clothes were very formal. I was  a little in front of him kneeling, . I saw the fingers of one of my hands lightly touching the floor and my head was tilted slightly and my clothes were soft and flowy. He was very dark but glowed a light from within and I was very light but a darkness was inside me (not a bad darkness). He was very linear and I was kinda the opposite. I couldnt really make out the background..perhaps a big window behind us.

Vancouver_cinful -> RE: To Paint A Picture... (6/19/2006 3:50:04 PM)

A large cage in the centre of  room hung with red velvet drapery. In the cage, me, wrapped in chain, wearing a collar and nothing else. I'm nestled on a red pillow, lying on my side.

Beside the cage a man is squatting. (I have no face to put to him at the moment. ::sigh::) In one hand he holds the end of the chain that is wrapped around me, and his other hand is through the bars of the cage, on my head.

We aren't looking at the painter, we are looking at each other.

kickinchick -> RE: To Paint A Picture... (6/19/2006 3:54:36 PM)

Fastlane with a Red Ass......Now, that would never happen, but would be a comissioned painting I would call "priceless"......giggles

Hey Vancouver....he talks highly of you.....would you by that painting?
runs and hides!

OedipusRexIt -> RE: To Paint A Picture... (6/19/2006 3:56:36 PM)

I've met two really good artists who are members here.  It would be interesting to read their thoughts on the great question posed by the OP.

It would be up to them to disclose their artistry, though.

My own limited imagination first conjured up an iron fist peeking out of a velvet glove...

He talks highly of me? Wow. Even after I gave him the gears for always peeing on the furniture whenever the mods let him back in the room? I'm flattered...

As for buying a painting of his red ass...only if it matched the garnet drapes in my living room. [:-]

Dear slavejali, Ladies and Gentlemen;

Lass, why not be the one painted?  They have body paint now days.

Makes for a lovely scene as well.  It is not to be confused with tattoos.
You can be 'hanging' around as fresh flesh art.

Respectfully submitted for consideration,
Lady Hugs

I agree with Ladyhugs.

Paint on the body is one of the most erotic experiences I have ever had

BreakMeShakeMe -> RE: To Paint A Picture... (6/19/2006 9:18:27 PM)

The first thing that popped into my head.. was to see a painting of my first Master... sitting upon his chair ... me kneeling slightly off to his left as I use to.. holding up his cup and saucer as he drank his coffee. I would ask that he focused of Master's eyes..as he eyed his server.... (ok so i'm an eye person...lol)

feastie -> RE: To Paint A Picture... (6/19/2006 9:32:30 PM)

I've carried the following image around with me for several years...while not a scene, something I'd like to see rendered.

A large, male hand, outstretched toward the viewer at a slight angle, palm up.  A woman kneeling in his palm, head thrown back, hair long, reaching his palm.  Her shoulders are back, her back is arched, her thigh splayed apart as she faces him.  Long chains extend from her chest toward him.  In the background, the viewer can barely make out the man's chest, which seems somewhat transparent as the chains enter his body and are wrapped around his heart.

edited for correction

A hummingbird hoovering above Master's hands. Don't know why but that was what popped into my mind first.

I just posted in the 'Online Training' thread as to how I don't think in pictures, so I am unable to respond, however I can relate to colours expressing emotion, and certainly sounds.  I wish there was far more music like Ravel's Bolero to convey gentleness building in intensity to a resounding climax.

Sorry, not what you asked and in meant in no way to detract from a thread for those that do relate to images.

MissDiandSirHugh -> RE: To Paint A Picture... (6/19/2006 10:36:23 PM)

For us it would be an outside painting with us standing hands outstreached with the sun just comeing up and the light from it raidating in all directions but not a bright yellow sunlight just as if it was a bright white fog streaming through the branches and leaves of the tree behind us and not dressed in any specail clothing just realxed clothing to show it is possibe to be what we are in all ways.
The Sub kneeling infront of us also dressed in ordinary cloths also showing they are happy to submit in any condition looking at our hands and reaching for them with a look of peace mixed with joy on their face.

I am an artist.  I work in acrylics, and am currently about to start delving into oils and pastels as well.  The only artist that I would be commissioning to create the piece would be Myself - and likely I would do the same thing I've done in the past when I had various scenes (both BDSM and non-BDSM oriented) pop into my head demanding to be let out onto canvas.  I go in my studio, I select a blank canvas that "feels" right as far as dimensions and get it set up on  my easel, I lay out my brushes, sponges, rags, and pallet knives... and I start mixing paint for my pallet.

I currently have a piece that I did a few months ago - titled "Captive" - which I would post to the thread if I knew how to insert it in the post.  (Like Tamer - if anyone would be willing to fill me in on how that's done, I love showing my art - even my mediocre art.)

Feastie - I love the mental image I'm getting from the description of the piece you'd like to see executed.  I may have to give it a go, and see whether I can't render it - with your permission, as it is your intellectual property and I dislike the idea of using someone else's idea for a painting without their approval.

feastie -> RE: To Paint A Picture... (6/19/2006 10:38:40 PM)

Tamer,

I see you're using photobucket...

Under your images, they give three different codes for posting your photos.  I think on this forum, you have to cut and paste the one that starts with [img]
