I would never do such a thing as a "mindfuck" or "test" or whatever you want to call it. (in response to Lillith.)
Then again, I have no need to. I have two people to 'varify' anyone that I talk to. And I let anyone who approaches me know that they will be talking to Holly for sure, and probably rob as well (since we all have to get along if we are all living together).
If I were single, I'd like to think that I still would not act in such a manner, however. I have enough friends that I could say something like "I'd like you to talk with one of my friends ... I want to make sure that anyone I'm with gets along with my friends too" - and then I would have Lori, or Kelly, or one of my friends actually talk to the guy. I would not log into another account and chat with the person myself. I also don't think that I would ask for transcripts of the conversastions - just a general impression and what kinds of things they talked about.
I'm with the people who think that if the OP had done somthing like that to her, it would have been met with rightous indignance and rage .... while he was expected to be greatful that he passed her "test".
