ok I just HAD to stick my nose in on this one.... I LOVE cars.... so I guess that throws the whole " cars are an extension of a mans penis" out the window eh?

My first car was a 1981 Ford Thunderbird, lovingly called " The Chicken" *chuckles* cept that car scooted. ( well it did after I did a LOT of work on her)  I do have to say that I miss the older model vehicles, they were a joy to tinker and work on.

It was a small block 302 5.0 liter, and on a good day it motored pretty well. We have a huge 5 lane freeway out here and everyone basically drags down it after dark... before I retired my beastie I used to run her down there a couple nights a week. Granted she'd hold her own at the gate, top out came way too early, but out of the gate it sure was fun to watch these lil boys and their cracker jack toys look stupid heh.

As far as little cars go I liked ( ok hold your britches because this is just sad ) the Geo Storm convertible. ( stick of course ) that lil sucker could go for days whew. I blew the engine up in that one racing it though.... oops heh but it was hella fun. ( sorry to muh ex wherever he is lol was his car.... but I did replace the engine so no love lost there lol )

I do have to agree about manual tranny's versus automatic, you have  better giddy up with a manual.

Currently I own a buick ( or well am in process of owning... damn payments are gonna last  lifetime I'm afraid though lol ) but I wouldnt dream of racing this one. Its showroom new and nuh uh. Besides I'm all growed up now and its not appropriate *eye roll*

For any of you that meander through ohio, Barberton Speedway is a great place to hit. They have hobby stock races that are fun as hell. They also have funny cars and bikes and trucks... all kinds of fun stuff for the racing enthused.

Heh.... Yeah it does - But I heard Savage the other day, say on the radio... ''Women who drive SUV's all suffer from penis envy

Well.... I'm another who doesn't care for Fords but the little 302ci in the Mustang has been a tough act for a long time. Hell.... one of the quickest cars I ever rode in was a 66' Mustang, with a seriously built Boss302 -- It really threw ya back in the seat.

Ah Im 22 a classic for me is a 1st gen RX-7.  If you ever been next to a  turbo-prop a boosted 13b engines sounds the same. I know 1st gens had the 12b but almost everyone did the swap.

The GM's of late 80's and early 90's were poor quality cars despite whatever the technology claimed same thing with chrysler and ford and dodge.

I forget the body class designation, of Buick LeSabres, not Regals, Olds 88s and 98, not Cutlasses.

What is newer and acceptable are the Chevy Luminas etc., but I don't like them.

The ones I like had the 3.8 standard. 4T60 tranny, and either a VIN C, 3 or L engine. If you call these poor quality you have never owned one. They have very solid, full size bodies and still deliver about 20 MPG. They are also relatively easy to work on.

If you don't like that, well, don't buy one.
