Thanks for the welcome.

I seem to have done something to my elbow. I think I pinched a nerve slightly. It only hurts when it's fully flexed (like when I reach back to put my arm through my jacket), but I can feel the pain in my pinky and ring fingers too.

It made my workout today a little less than spectacular, since I didn't want to strain it further. Although, the rowing machine didn't seem to give me any problems. But playing violin tonight did.

I'm hoping I just slept on it weird, and didn't actually do damage to it yesterday at work. I'm going to take it a little easier tomorrow, and make sure to lift with my other arm when I have to.

Does anyone have suggestions for working abs that doesn't use your arms? I already do crunches, but I usually do planks, suspended leg lifts, and push ups as well. If my elbow isn't just a today kind of hurt, I will need to adjust my workout to accomodate it.

I can't wait for the warmer weather so I can do outdoor activities. I miss my kayak.

You can always do standing ab workouts.

Here's a sample http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zI5EoiYi1c

Technically, you still use yours arms. Just not in the same manner as you would in a plank. It's not putting any force on those muscles.

Ohmygosh!! I tried the exercises you recomended today and I love them. I could definetly feel them working different muscles. They are getting added to my normal routine. Thanks!

Today I also managed to go 3km on the rowing machine for the first time. Not all in one sitting, but still. It makes me more confident to go out further in my kayak this summer.

You're welcome!!! Not a lot of people are an advocate for JM. I think she talks too much, but her workouts are extremely effective for me!

When your arm gets better she has a 6 pack in 6 weeks video. It's all about the abs with some HIIT cardio mixed in.

Imp JM does talk A LOT when I do her stuff, I mute it!
She does some nice work outs though.

I am looking into picking up a glider, not to replace my work outs but to do when I am watching t.v. Lol

Impish - I made your ravioli soup for lunch today and my teeny-tiny still in 6month clothes toddler ate three helpings! So thank you!

I've had a day off running today because I have blisters - yuck. I think some of the lining in my shoes is coming away, which is annoying because they haven't got many miles on them. BUT on Saturday I'm getting a gait analysis and my mum is treating me to a new pair! Yay! So excited.

Yay! I'm so glad it worked out. Like I said it's my favorite!!!!

Soooo I'm seriously trying to muster up the energy to get a workout in today. It's been an emotional and stressful day. My body (particularly my abs) are screaming at me from yesterday's workout. I normally take one rest day, but I think I need two this week. Although I feel immensely guilty for taking an extra. I've been feeling super dizzy, tired, worn out, and like it takes every ounce of energy I have to move my body.

FR

So, I checked out Curves today, and sadly, the one in Veneta is not for me. Will give it another go when I return to California.

Imp,
If you are feeling like that I think you need to listen to your body and don't feel guilty for it. Injuring yourself would set you back far more than taking a day of rest will.

AC,
I had my toes crossed. I'm personally not a fan of curves but I know other's who swear by that place.

The weather is beautiful and now it's hiking season!! We are about to hit the trails for a couple of hours. I'm super excited by this. It wears both of us and the dogs out.

Woohoo!
One of the few things I miss about California is Yosimite.
I used to go get lost there and hike / camp for days.

I'm down and out for the count. I did a small short walk with the dogs after work and that's all I could do. It was as if my body weighed a ton. I apparently need to get to the doctor. I've been eating super healthy and balanced(I think), but maybe I'm not getting enough nutrition. I'm completely wiped out. I ended up using some of my vacation time for a couple of emergency days and to be honest I plan on sleeping as much as possible tomorrow. Not to mention a few other things going on that are uncharacteristic for me. I feel better when I get some sun or I'm outdoors for awhile, but when I'm done I'm just completely wiped out.

I just don't like the hand holding, and the fact that I can't do a different workout everyday kinda bugged me. I love to do about an hour of cardio and an hour that targets some group of muscles. Can't really do that at Curves, I found. :(

Not to worry though. I have been walking Daddy's poodles and cleaning like crazy. Where there's a will, there's a way!

I was complaining about not having a bathroom down stairs today.
I was told, those stairs will keep you in shape between walking up them and dropping and doing 10 pushups every time you go up.

Damn but that's a lot to go through to take a pee! Lol

It is odd. I went to the gym 6 days a week 2 hours a day. I haven't gone in over a year. Kinda fat ass now too. Aside from that I do not have much to add. Possibly I should go back again? This thread will inspire me.

Esinn,

Welcome to the thread!

I love my weight loss but I KNOW that a majority of it is due to me changing my eating habits. I don't spend hours in the gym or working out a day.

I hope this thread does help you some.

Imp, AC, and lovethyself,
How are your workouts going this week?

Chatter did ya doing your weights?

Aries,
How is your workout going?

I'm at 0 "workouts" this week. I don't really count walking the dogs as a real workout. It burns calories based on sheer distance, but my heart rate doesn't really get elevated. Fortunately for me, my resting heart rate is pretty low so I only have to get it up to 124-130 to get into the fat burning range. I have a sinus infection and the dizziness and headaches are making it impossible to do much of anything.

Lilsquaw,
It's been raining here the last few days so I
haven't done any rides, I've managed to keep to
sleeping pattern though, still waking up before
sunrise without an alarm, I really need to do the
ride early around here to get it done before the
traffic and fit it in to the day etc, so waking up
early is the main thing I'm trying to keep up for
when it stops raining.

I was going to say how I'm unsatisfied with my
progress atm, but to be fair on myself I've had
a couple of milestones, I've been kicking the
football around with a friend as much as I can
lately, just for some fun fitness stuff,
(when it was sunny) and my cardio actually out
lasted his the last time, which is a big deal since
he has crazy cardio, it may have been a fluke,
but that was something... and it wasn't from
lack of running on my part either!

Hmm, I've added a goal to my training as well,
100 Consecutive Pushups!
I'm currently only at 40 (On a good day...)
But I'm working towards the hundred, I work
out mainly back on my gym machine so this is
a good way to balance it out.

So yea, not satisfied with where I'm at, but
can't really complain either, I do think I should
be pushing myself more though... I still feel
lazy...

The antibiotics have kicked in and I'm back to working out. I did a short 20 minute bikini body workout. Only because I want to build back up some muscle tone and we are taking the dogs out later, after my husband gets off work. Hopefully, this won't be too much and tucker me out.

I've just had a ton of blood work done and the Doc called and said it was looking fantastic. I have a great blood sugar, my cholesterol is low, and every thing else is looking good too. So besides the current weight loss, I'm in good shape. :)

Impish, that sucks that you were sick. Sounds like it won't be too much of a lingering thing though.

This week was okay. I went to the gym twice earlier in the week. But I made a rule for myself to work out every other day with no more than 2 days between if something came up (like work). Then I dropped the ball on Thursday. Worked late and had to rush home to be online with him (ldr's suck, but he'll be here next weekend). I sort of made up for it by doing some workout at home after, but it just wasn't the same. I rent a bedroom in someone else's house, so not a lot of floor space to work out. Friday I worked late again, and today I'll be working till after midnight. On the plus side, I will be lifting very heavy risers tonight, so it will be a sort-of workout. Just lacking the cardio. Maybe a bikeride is in order today.

One good thing is that He wants to start working out again, so when he comes up next, we're going to my gym for a workout together, so we don't lose the momentum. My gym has day passes so I can bring guests.

Aries, I must say, I'm impressed. Your goals are so far beyond me at this point. Don't be too hard on yourself. How is your bulking up going for the job? Do you look all scary strong yet? Do we get to see picture?

I was reading today in the UK press about a device you wear on your wrist which tracks what you eat and your exercise. You can then share that with your friends as an incentive to keep doing well (and I immediately thought it would be a very sexy controlling device for a dom to require you to wear). I am not sure of its name.; It was definitely worn on the wrist and I suppose may have been something to do with bio feedback.
