Tallullah,
Oh I know I just am not a fan of frozen spinach, kale or avocado. It's a taste thing for me.

And I think the work out would def. be more embarrassing for the midget. Lol

Aries,

Better to go slow and steady than to rush and injure yourself. :)

lmpishlilhellcat -> RE: Workout (6/4/2013 3:32:58 AM)

So I have a little bit of a rant.....

I've lost quite a bit of weight in the last year. I mean I'm only like 10lbs away from my first goal weight. So, that a huge yay for me. But because everything at work has to be a competition, all the work and effort I've put into losing weight has been downplayed. Cause, I'm just good like that I can wish the weight away. I've watched everything I've put into my mouth, rarely indulged, and worked out like crazy. So this size two girl comes to me and says I need to count calories because I need to drop some weight. I'm thinking, if you drop any weight you will be all bones. I'm all for being healthy. If you want to live a healthy lifestyle do so. I'm all for that and will offer all the support in the world.

They started a sticker calendar at work. Every day you workout for at least 30 minutes you get a sticker on the calendar, but they go out to eat every day. Doesn't that defeat the purpose? Maybe, I'm being silly.......

TNDommeK -> RE: Workout (6/4/2013 3:37:43 AM)

Lost two more pounds! Weighed in at the gym tonight!

Happy dance!

Yay K!

Imp, this is an individual journey.
Perhaps her journey is just different than yours.

The point that may not have come across was that, she wasn't doing it for health. She was doing it after making several remarks about how it is so easy and what I've done really isn't much of anything. She was turning it into a competition with glitter, stickers, and promised fast food meals for the person that has lost the most. I get that it's a journey and mine differs from everyone else. However, trying to downplay what it is I've accomplished to make yourself feel better is downright shitty. I was trying to shed some of the frustration of the daily struggle. Not the place I guess.

lovethyself -> RE: Workout (6/5/2013 10:04:41 AM)

Imp, I get what you're saying, and you're right. If you read her motives right, then that was a shitty thing for her to do. It sounds like she has body issues. Maybe your awesome success is making her feel self conscious, and minimizing the effort involved makes her feel better. We have some girls here that come to the shipping department (beside my shop) to weigh themselves and talk about how many calories they've had and how much they want to lose. I don't think of myself as fat at all, and I have a good 30 to 40 lbs on them. I'm not sure how losing 20 lbs could possibly be healthy for them. My solution is to just walk away when they start onto that topic. Fortunately, I don't have to work side by side with them (unless it's a collaborative project, and even then, their office is at the other end of the building), so avoiding the topic is easy for me.

I'm sure there are others at your work that have noticed your progress and applauded you on your success. Listen to those people instead.

And if I haven't said it before, congrats on being so close to your first weight goal!! I've had a bump or two myself recently, and actually put some weight on (after sitting the same for months) and had to go back up a hole on my belt. Not a proud moment for me. So, I know your struggle and applaud your progress.

TheLilSquaw -> RE: Workout (6/5/2013 10:35:32 AM)

Imp,

I'm glad you vented though and I'm sorry if you felt like I was chastising you for doing so.

When I first started my journey a year ago the complex I lived in was having a Biggest Loser Competition. I didn't plan it that way. I wasn't even planning on joining the competition but my manager asked me to. Said that perhaps people seeing my weight loss, my journey would be encouraged plus there ws a cash prize for the one who lost the most at the end of the time. Eh... was the cash prize my primary goal? Hell no, but it was a nice bonus. It's a bonus I enjoyed. Lol

During that time people who never where in the gym working out. Which was the purpose of it.

I also know some gym rats who eat like I do Mon- Fri but on the weekends they go hog wild. (literally) They eat what ever they want on the weekends including fast food. That is their reward for spending hours in the gym and eating right Mon-Fri.

Not my thing.
To me that would be counter productive.

Perhaps she didn't think she was down playing your accomplishments.
Perhaps she is down playing your loss so she doesn't feel bad about hers.
Perhaps like the gym rats I know, she needs that motivation of the fast food or cheat meal.

There could be many reasons, but neither you or I know.

Do you think she purposefully downplayed your accomplishments to make you feel shitty?

TheLilSquaw -> RE: Workout (6/6/2013 5:54:26 AM)

I skipped my work out today because I have a 4 hour shoot but me and my son did go for a morning walk.

I have a physical in 3 wks and I am excited to see my gps reaction to my weight loss, ect.
We will also be doing blood work b/c my old meds messed with my liver levels and while on them I began having thyroid issues.
