I had both a mammogram and an ultrasound because I have scarring from my reduction and I have fibroids. I had a biopsy done once and that was two years ago when Master found a lump in my breast. Turned out to be nothing though thankfully. They said it most likely was just old scar tissue that I had probably damaged in someway...exercise, eeerr...rough play possibly.

Thankfully though my insurance pays for both the mammogram and ultrasound. Some insurances won't yet cover ultrasounds and that's why doctors don't suggest it much unless there is more reason to do so. Ultrasounds, according to a lot of insurance companies, are not the normal procedures yet, just like a lot would not accept chiropractors for years until it became common practice and studies were done to show it wasn't "excessive" and unwarranted procedures.

My dr. put me in twilight sleep for both of my colonoscopies, and I never felt a thing. Wish they would do that for mammograms. Ow, dammit!
