Edited in as an afterthought - I wonder if it's pure coincidence that the Library forums disappeared without warning or explanation last Autumn? The Library has been run purely as a draw for a commercial site for some years, so it would be their style, if they were threatened like this, to just pull the plug on the risky non-paying side of the business rather than try to fight on like FL.



Listen, would it be okay if we didn't blame this on the TEA Party? Because as a member of the TEA Party, I can tell you that this isn't in our forms, or in our sights, in any way, shape of form that I can see. TEA stands for TAXED ENOUGH ALREADY. We have no statement as a group about anything else. So while people may have complained, IT WAS NOT ABOUT THE TEA PARTY ALREADY.

Anybody on the other site knows that it was just a blip in the radar. "The Big Four" ended up being a big nothing. Were there some disgruntled folks? Yes.

Since the other site, as of this writing is sitting at 4,150,078 members, I don't think it's really an issue.

Please start checking the dates of the threads that you choose to resurrect.

Nah. I just kind of like forum rules. Helps to keep the crap down. At least, it used to.

So, necro is not necessarily the heinous crime it once was, HOWEVER, pulling up old threads that have no current pertinence is going to be frowned upon.

I'll be getting some rules and guidelines together, I promise.

Until then, it's gonna be a bit piecemeal, while I figure out what the rules were, why, and whether they are worth having.

My greatest rule is, "Don't be an asshole," but the powers that be won't let me leave it at that. They say it's not clear enough. Lol!
