Just a quick question or observation, however you would like look at it, and i promise (at least from my end of this) that i am not whininig, i am truly curious.

i had taken down my profile for a bit to take a breather, and just recently put up a new one under the same nick as before. i have received a few emails from "Pro" Dommes looking to meet and for money and such. Today i got an email from a "Lesbian Pro Domme" inviting me to her dungeon for a play party, it was one of those "Dear Sir/sub" cut and paste kind of things. i sent a quick response saying that i was not interested and please remove me from your email list. (instead of the "f**k off that i would have preferred). i shortly got an email back ... in all caps .. saying that i was rude and did not read her whole ad. The one in HUGE letters and caps. Then my email was blocked and i wated a perfectly good retort.

My question is (i got so wound up there again that i almost forgot):
These kind of people claim to be pillars of the community (D/s), and well respected. Is this in fact true and i am missing something here, or am i flypaper for freaks?

I truly am trying to understand.

Thanks for listening.

For Myself as a Pro....I do not solicit submissives.they come to Me.
I have the right to advertise like any other business and CM has a section for it so I have an Ad here.  IMO Me starting the conversation makes Me look more like a hooker and not like a Dominatrix.

SanguineEve -> RE: Pro Dommes driving you nutz?! (6/20/2006 7:51:35 PM)

Thank You all for what You wrote.. I've been getting some emails from people telling me that not only am I a whore, but also I'm Evil for what I choose to do with my life. This is who I am, and if people don't like it, they don't have to speak with me. I chose this profession when I.. Quote, unquote ~Found Myself~.. and Had found out that many Dom/mes hide who they are for discretion purposes, and for work and for this reason or for that. I am a Domme throughout my life.. and I see my profession as a part of me.. and with this.. I don't have to hide who I truly am.. I applaud all of You who are both simply lifestyle Dom/mes and lifestyle and Pro Dom/mes for standing up for Yourselves and Others like Us.

I have been waiting for WEEKS for the newest edition of "Do W/we love or hate Prodommes:  A magazine for the true pillars of the community."

I saw the thread and almost wet myself with excitement!  We haven't had this one in a while, and I was afraid this debate had gone away.  But someone brought it up again, and the universe is once again in balance.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

To answer the OP in the name of all posters - they're whores, no, they're not, it's not sexual, yes, it is, they're sex workers, not whores, define whore and sex worker, they're whores and should be shot on site, no, many are actually valuable contributers to the community, yeah, but they're still whores, no, they're not, yes, they are, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes.

Veryfewcan -> RE: Pro Dommes driving you nutz?! (6/20/2006 7:59:08 PM)

Geez, don't take everything so serious...after all it is the internet!
A pro is just that. A professional that conducts themselves in a professional manner. A wanabee pro is just that. A; gee I don't have a clue but know I can make money at this.
For me, I don't even give either the time of day. Reason being, I believe in the lifestyle. Pro's are for players. Wanabee pro's are for players. Are you a player????
It has nothing to do with money. Pro's don't get that concept...or Wanabee pro's.

As is, I had my first submissive at age 14. I was "playing" earlier than that. I didn't take my first professional session, i.e., paid session, until a year ago.

Oh god I knew it.  She would make this claim.  Well let's see my first girlfriend was spoiled and used to having everthing her way.  O.K. so that must mean she was actually a domme and I was into the lifestyle, having had my first session when I was thirteen.  But then again maybe I was nothing more than a horny little pervert who simply licked it when she sat on me.  Oops, forgive my spelling, is that liked or licked?  ;)

I intend to get a degree in sexual psychology because I intend to study abnormal sexual behaviour.

Ah so then your actually here to study us, exploiting us?  Presumeably by pretending to be one of us?

Anyway honey maybe I should give you the benefit of the doubt.  But so far you fit the behavioral profile of a pretentious poser.   Or could I be wrong?

Ya know, I was a little skeptical when I first saw Miss Alice's profile as well. I mean, she is 19 and *most* 19 year olds that I know do not have the emotional skills, let alone the experience, to be very effective as dominants. However, I'd say this one has a good head on her shoulders. She's stated several times that she's *ALWAYS* learning. She's not pretentious ... She's honest.

I got an early start in BDSM as well ... It happens. Especially with the internet being so easily accessed and the information just sitting right there, waiting for anyone who can read to come along and pick it up and start applying it. If an 11 yr old can have sex and become a mommy, I don't think its *that* far of a stretch for a 14 yr old to be playing BDSM games and identify herself as a Domme ... She may not be the greatest and most experienced Domme but that doesn't make her "not a Domme" ...

It makes perfect sense of her to get a degree in sexual psychology ... She clearly enjoys exploring sexuality and yet she's intelligent enough to realize that the likelihood of being a pro domme forever and ever just isn't all that high. Boobies sag, waistlines thicken, etc etc etc ... There's nothing wrong with what she's doing.

Whats your problem anyway?

As for the OP, I'm sorry you had this experience. Move on. No big deal.

This isn't a pro domme issue. It's a spammer issue.

If you reply to spammers, you usually get more spam. At least here you can block them.

No big.

edited to add: oops, I forgot to address the original thread.
Just put people with bad attitudes on ignore.
Also edited to add: Sorry about going off topic and addressing the other off topic post
Although I've no desire to ever be a pro, or ever go to one, I do think they provide a very valuable service. There are people who just desire a pro, it's all about the paying. Unfortunately, there are some, for whatever reason, medical or otherwise, who will never have someone to call their own and this is their only avenue. People who have been disfigured who feel the need to hide themselves away and prefer online pros, dom or vanilla, is all they have.
True, this is not always the case, but it is for many.
Their are people, who have goals they're trying to accomplish and can't devote the time required to make a relationship nurish and grow, others just like the variety. Some just want to sit and talk to a beautiful woman about nothing, because they've never had the opportunity before.
I do not equate all pros to being those who are walking street corners, or crack whores with their pimps. There are pros who do have class and higher standards and in Nevada, there are even some pretty famous places. Some of them really do enjoy their jobs and are hired for that very reason.
I would not want my partner to go to a pro, but I did in the past offer that option to someone, before they decided to move in with me. I wanted to make sure they had every opportunity to find out if there would be anything else they thought they might require before stepping into a committed, monogamous relationship. I would prefer a one time visit to a pro to find out, than working his way through all the available girls in the neighborhood. BTW, he declined the offer.
Anything else I did wrong? < looking around >Probably

cadre, who probably didn't intend to start a new anti/pro-prodomme debate - just delete and if they become pestering, block them. Plenty of people on here get spam or form letters from people who haven't bothered to the read the profiles, merely skimmed for "male submissive."
As to whether they're pillars of the community - which one? Perhaps in their own communities they're vocal and present and do much for the community. On here I wouldn't say my first pick for "pillars" would be pro-dommes out of hat. Maybe that should be a new thread, who are the pillars on CM?

To all else, don't know why pro-dommes bother everyone so much, just as I don't get why people get so upset over porn stars, strippers, prostitutes. No, I'm not saying they are all one in the same, but to an extent they're all universally deriding for providing something "real people" shouldn't be seeking, because "real people" should have an SO or a house full of them ready to provide it.

brightspot -> RE: Pro Dommes driving you nutz?! (6/21/2006 1:50:02 AM)

Nope, Pro-Dommes may have on occasion titilated me but they never have driven me nuts.
Now driving me nuts while titilating me, might be pretty interesting[;)].
Although I really wouldn't label anyone a pillar of society, just because I don't care for the reference, I do have much respect for certain Pro-Dommes I have interacted with.

carde -> RE: Pro Dommes driving you nutz?! (6/21/2006 4:42:31 AM)

Hello E/everyone,
Thanks for the wonderful posts, all of Y/you.

i am sorry if to some i was slamming Pro Dommes, because i am not. Just the ones that cannot take no for an answer ... at least not with dignity. i guess between the ones that do what i have commented about and the ones that post the typical "I em a Guddess, ur are a wermn, snd me muny an i well b a bytch to u jest lak i m in reel lyfe" that seem to be more frequent made me begin to wonder about this whole online thing.

i guess i go on the the premise that "pro" means you have been paid, or assume to be paid for something, whereas an amateur does it for the love of the activity only. And that being a "pro" does not make you good at something, just that you have found someone dumb enough to pay you (if you are not good at it that is) Someone who excells at what they do and offers it to others should be paid for their services if it is their vocation. i pay for my horses to be trained, because the trainer is good at it and better than me, i pay my doctor, and i pay my mechanic. i did not pay the last freelance voice talent that came into my studio claiming to be a pro voice, and clearly, clearly, clearly did not have a clue and wasted my time. i guess it is all relative.

Thanks again so much for all of the input, this has been nice.

carde.

P.S. and thank You for all of the comments about my profile ... wow, it boosts the happiness of an old dog [:)]
