I have been amused by how many posers there are online. To prove my point to an acquaintance, profiles were set up here and on Bondage using a photo of one of the most famous fettish models there is.... Eve Ellis.
Only 2 Dom's from Bondage recognized Eve in the photo. The other Dom's that are now quite displeased that I led them astray with that photo are in such a huff. Yet, gauging by the emails I have received, most are posers -- they are in pretend land. Did I lead some astray with the "forced breeding" and K9 training -- LOL -- yes I did. It's a really deviant world -- don't assume I'm an innocent.
So before you go galloping off on your rocking horse of righteous indignation -- stop to contemplate a few things:
Am I a poser because I did this as a proof of showing an acquaintance what the online BDSM world was like?
Am I a poser because I chose to use an image as a "red herring" to test people's worth? For those of you that don't know what that term means, a red herring was used to drag across the path to throw off the dogs trailing people.
But what if I told you this bit of info -- not only do I have an understanding of the lifestyle, my own father owned a dungeon for several years and also appeared on HBO's Real Sex. Alas, he gave it up because he literally got "whipper's elbow" -- for those in the vanilla world, that's tennis elbow.
Am I actively in the BDSM world -- no. Does that mean I am ignorant of it -- obviously not because a lot of Dom posers took me for legit. I respect people that choose this as their lifestyle and do not judge them for it. I respect the man in my life which allows me to let him take lead in our personal relationship - and something must be right because we've been together for almost 11 years. But don't expect me to be submissive to others -- I know exactly what I want and I lay the groundwork to achieve it.
I'm making this post for 2 reasons:
- Alerting others that are new to this world to not be taken in -- there are a lot of posers and newbie Doms online.
- I believe that there are a lot of men & women out there that find themselves at these sites because they are lacking something vital in their personal life -- whether that be respect or companionship.
You will find it hard to fulfill your needs with someone else until you are happy with yourself. Love yourself. If BDSM is the way for you, good luck and God bless. But if you are looking at it as a substitute for something vital lacking in your life, make sure you are also exploring all alternatives in your life.
