Master96 -> Low self-esteem and submission… (6/20/2006 3:05:32 PM)

Dear subs and slaves,

Please express your feelings…

With love, respect and big hug…
Master96,

stef -> RE: Low self-esteem and submission… (6/20/2006 3:18:21 PM)

To me, it feels like you haven't asked a question.  Are you looking for free association or was there actually something you wanted to ask?

it is well known here that i have a low self-esteem, (which, i'm sure "someone" will pounce on and make light of). i know all about it and "some" tend to label my posts as "self-pity" (which it is NOT). anyway, if i were to post anything further, "certain" people would hijack Your post and make it a bashing. feel free to message me directly if You would like an insite on this condition, Sir.

Well isn't this a confusing thread!! LOL.  Master96 is 22 years old, Caucasian, living in Amman, Jordan, and posts a thread with no topic, and Michael makes it all about him.  I'm not criticizing either, just making observations.

So what IS this thread about, pray tell?  LOL

it was not my intention to make this about me, i merely offered an insight on the subject at hand. there are others out there that have the same "issues" as myself.

i also am merely trying to save this person the "slamming" this subject usually draws in from those who will never understand.

but, by all means...let the slamming begin. i won't be posting in public about this subject again.

blaqpearl -> RE: Low self-esteem and submission… (6/20/2006 3:34:04 PM)

Low self-esteem can best be boosted by a genuine caring and mindful Master that knows what it takes to bring out the 'high' as regards esteeming yourself--oh yeah!...

juliaoceania -> RE: Low self-esteem and submission… (6/20/2006 3:35:23 PM)

Low self esteem has nothing to do with being submissive. If you asked 1000 submissives if they had good self esteem or poor self esteem, and  then 1000 vanilla people the same question you would find that low self esteem is a PEOPLE problem, not a submissive problem.

I wonder why people do not go to "Ask a Master" and ask them if there is some deep sense of inadequacy that causes them to want to control people? I have never seen dominants asked this question and I wonder why. I bet there are just as many low self esteem doms as there are subs.

kyraofMists -> RE: Low self-esteem and submission… (6/20/2006 3:37:12 PM)

I think that any correlation between the two is coincidental.

Guess that isn't a feeling though...

Why do I feel like a hamster in a test lab when reading the post???
.... by the way, thats sarcasm, not low self-esteem .......... lol

hizgeorgiapeach -> RE: Low self-esteem and submission… (6/20/2006 3:56:39 PM)

I don't see a question.   I see a post title, and an empty comment without any meaning or relation to the post title.  Then I see a bit of whining and reverse bashing.  And I then see a couple of comments that seem to have taken the title of the post itself AS the question.

96, if you're gonna ask something, then get off your rump and get to asking it.

APerfectParadox -> RE: Low self-esteem and submission… (6/20/2006 4:01:54 PM)

Correlation does not prove causation ....

Because everyone knows dominance comes from delusions of grandeur.

But someone can still start a thread with the subject "Delusions of grandeur and dominance"  and then ask us to please express our feelings. It would probably get a similar reaction as this.

TemptingNviceSub -> RE: Low self-esteem and submission… (6/20/2006 4:30:31 PM)

If you are asking if the two correlate then the answer is no..If you are asking how to handle a submissive with low self esteem then my answer is simple..patience, time,positive feedback,as you would with any person male/female..child/adult.if its something else entirely then I will await your clarification to your posting..be well..Tempting

EVERYONE knows ...bananas don't grow on trees.

Master96 -> RE: Low self-esteem and submission… (6/20/2006 4:32:55 PM)

Waw… back off a little!

Sorry to confuse you people, to be more specific. Is your submission a result of your low self-esteem? In other words… how are submission and the level of self-esteem related?

It seems juliaoceania is the only person got the question.

Thanks guys,
Master96,

I understood the unasked question and my original answer still stands, "any correlation between the two is coincidental"

Kyra,  sounds like a classic case of the questioner not understanding the answer  (grin)

APerfectParadox -> RE: Low self-esteem and submission… (6/20/2006 4:51:25 PM)

The same goes for me .....perhaps you did not understand our answers.... correlation (meaning they  occur together) does not prove causation  ( meaning this occurance in no way proves one causes the other)
edited to be more precise in the definitons

APerfectParadox -> RE: Low self-esteem and submission… (6/20/2006 5:03:16 PM)
