I think anyone putting in their profile that they are a findom and do this for tribute ought to be immediately deleted!!! That is not what BDSM is about!!

Am I right?

TheLilSquaw -> RE: FinDom (2/12/2013 8:49:01 PM)

The search feature is your friend.
This is a subject that comes up a lot.

Is Financial Domination a Legitimate Kink?

1st post serious question

ETA: Practicing financial domination isn't a violation of the sites TOS so why should the profiles be deleted??

Shininglight23 -> RE: FinDom (2/12/2013 8:49:58 PM)

You aren't right. Please use the search feature in the top right hand corner of your screen... there are a lot of threads about this topic.

I see this is your first post... Welcome.

Allie

ryandb -> RE: FinDom (2/12/2013 9:20:04 PM)

I am right. 99% of the findoms on this site are fake... They are dudes in a basement or brothels in the Philippians with girls being forced by unscrupulous bosses to make them money.

Shininglight23 -> RE: FinDom (2/12/2013 9:41:39 PM)

Ryandb,

You asked if you were right... I disagree... you're not. However, I understand... most people think what they believe to be an absolute, and often it's hard to see a different point of view.

If you aren't interested in one particular group of people...for whatever your personal reasons may be... don't contact them. It's very simple.

Why don't you take a look around "this side" of collarme? There's a lot to learn... and some serious laughs on the Train Wreck thread.

Just my [sm=2cents.gif]

Allie

How did you come up with that number?
How did you verify if they were guys in a basement??

The hide button.
Is another feature that you might want to learn to use.
If you hide a profile on the other side, POOF.
You no longer see it!

ryandb -> RE: FinDom (2/13/2013 5:06:30 AM)

Have either of you browsed through the profiles labeled as female dominate? Count, if you were all those who have just ONE photo or none. If the words, "I demand you buy me something from my wishlist is there or I won't talk to you." are in the profile, then they are in violation of CollarMe's user agreement. Yes, some guys want to feel controlled and their wallet is one way to do that, but I've paid tribute to a few profiles on here, that once received dropped off the face of the Earth. That's not domination... That's a scam. And their are enough of them that it should be of concern by the collarme admin. Now, I won't do that again, but do you know how many chats I get (I've been on and off this site for awhile) when I say findom ISN'T one of my fetish? zero. none. Second, another trick that has been pulled on me was the being lead to another site, where a credit card and other info was requested. This is not a rare occurrence! My concern is at some point someone is going to get majorly burned and take the poor fools at collarme to court.. They might not win such a case, but it could cost CM enough to put them out of business. Food for thought!

Sturgeon's law applies in this case, ryan: 99% of everybody on the internet is a fake of one sort or another. Why should the Finnish Dominatrixes get a rougher ride over that on this site than all of the other fakes with profile pictures of Suicide Girls or male models in photoshopped gimp masks?

Yeah, I wouldn't worry so much about this one. If a person was foolish enough to go to a website and put in their credit card information, they really can't blame CM for that. CM didn't make them send a message to the domme profile, CM didn't make them click on the link the domme sent them, CM didn't make them put in their credit card info. CM has no responsibility, and it would get dismissed within days of being filed. That wouldn't cost CM all that much money.

And note to the Mods...if such a lawsuit were to be filed in Ohio, hit me up! [:D]

DarkSteven -> RE: FinDom (2/13/2013 5:27:21 AM)

Simmer down, ryan. You're so full of righteous indignation that you're not really reading the responses you get.

Whenever I read a rant like yours, I assume that the ranter's profile is turning away lifestyle Dommes (which is just another way of saying Dommes that are not taking pay). Your profile has one single sentence, and it basically says you want to submit. And because you made it blue on a black background, even that's not easy to read.

Now then. If you don't want to pay, what are you going to offer a Domme? You can offer her a relationship. (And for a woman, that means lots of conversation.) Right now, your profile shows you want to adore but it's so short that no Domme would think of you as a conversationalist.

So fill out your profile. Tell about you. What type of job do you hold? What are your hobbies? What are the topics of conversation that you enjoy?

Once you've done that, then you'll be ready to contact Dommes. And the ones that contact you - usually they're tribute types. So you'll have to take the initiative.

Edited to add:

Well, the fact that they state in big letters "DO NOT send money to other members here" could be taken as a legal warning. That, plus the impossibility of actually removing all the profiles you don't like, would constitute an excellent defense. Seriously, no legit lawyer would take a case like that. Plus, it would take about $500 in legal fees to sue over a $50 or so loss.

punisher440 -> RE: FinDom (2/13/2013 5:32:17 AM)

ryandb,I'm pretty sure CM covers themselves with this warning they have plastered all over the place...words to live by yet some do not heed them.

Blimey ryandb, you have only been on the site less than a month and already you know that 99% of findommes are fake.
You have been very busy checking your stats

This. Very much this.

ryandb -> RE: FinDom (2/13/2013 7:33:12 AM)

I am not simmering, and this isn't my first profile on here. I left last time because every time a decent conversation would take place, my credit card number was asked for. And that has happened nearly 100% of the time. I still like reading the profiles and enjoy some of the journals, so I stay on here.

@Darksteven - A lawyer would take that kind of case.. It wouldn't matter if that disclaimer was up there or not. Number 2, it is very easy to write a python script that scans profiles for words like "give me your money" or "wallet rape" or "I am a financial princess" or more common, "I'm looking for a filthy pay piggies". HOW MANY Lifestylers are out there? I don't know. CM, for the sake of keeping the website real and for its intended purposes should consider making it perfectly clear that this type of profile is not allowed. And in fact, if I were to take the time to dig though the terms of use legal jargon, I'm sure it would say that it is not. And at the very least, flag them. In the IT business, they are very much liable for this kind of thing. It is the reason places like facebook and google are pretty careful and will delete profiles at will.

ryan, you have assumed that the site must meet your preferences for who gets a profile here and who doesn't. You don't like finDommes. Fine. But your kink preferences are not universal.

And your example of the Python script wil produce a whack-a-mole situation in which the site's unpaid volunteers would fight the commercial folks who would try different script variations.

I don't speak for all lawyers, of course, but I am a lawyer. The disclaimer being there, and as prominent as it is, certainly would matter, and would relieve CM of all liability for the stupidity of the individuals who use it.

And as to whether I would take the case: I probably would, but only if I got a large retainer (at least $5,000) up-front, and after I advised them that even if I filed the complaint, they would not succeed. If you want to pay me that kind of money, come to Ohio and I'd be more than happy to represent you *sarcasmfont*.

MsLadySue -> RE: FinDom (2/13/2013 8:29:01 AM)

FR

How about a script that immediately deletes any thread started regarding whining/bitching about findommes? (I have no problem with findommes, just a wise-ass remark regarding this subject.

ryandb -> RE: FinDom (2/13/2013 8:42:06 AM)

I am not trying to push my kinks on others. There are a LOT of kinks that do not involve taking someone's money.. But what would be nice would be to actually find dommes on here, not scam artists. That's all that I am finding. Clearly all who are defending the practice here are not actually turning the profile search on female dominates from age 18 to 38 and taking a look at what is there? or try to contact them to see. You're not seeing it at all. What you are seeing is someone's right to sit behind a computer screen anonymously and take some poor idiots (mine) money. Maybe you see no problem with that, but I believe it completely ruins the reputation of this site. I have an account over on Fetlife, and while the scam artists exist there, it is NOT infested with them. CollarME is.. For those of you who are true to the lifestyle, those scammers are making YOU look bad, because of your association with a site that does little to nothing to curtail it.

evesgrden -> RE: FinDom (2/13/2013 8:43:23 AM)

Ryan, paying for services is not a crime. Asking someone to pay for services is not a crime.

Being stupid enough to give someone your credit card number is not a crime, although some might argue that being that stupid should be a crime. Ultimately it would be self-correcting I suppose.

Annoying you, is not a crime

So exactly what charge would someone bring to bear?
"I gave someone permission to use my credit card... and THEY DID".

Fargin Bastich!

mnottertail -> RE: FinDom (2/13/2013 9:01:32 AM)

What if you are a fatgirl, and a fake,  who is a findomme, and a black mistress,  who wants cuckolds as toilet slaves, or am I the only one?

Have we had that thread yet?
