An expert in fine dining? Really?

Sure. Spent 15 years working in the industry in top end joints cross the country. Been a waiter, bartender, manager, chef, maitre de. I know all the tricks, seen anything and everything happen, from waiting on the VP to watching a lady get set on fire at her table.
I'd say that qualifies me as an expert.

Fine dining AND fire play? Man, that's gifted!

Hi LafayetteLady,
do you really think that someone who was trained at 17 by a mistress (in what), and is now a dominant, shouldn't at the very least, pick up a book, and maybe read up on some general terms, and ideas about what direction he/she is on?

rowdy01, these are for you:
The Loving Dominant by John Warren
The Compleat Slave: Creating And Living An Erotic Dominant/submissive Lifestyle by Jack Rinella and Joseph W. Bean
Family Jewels: A Guide to Male Genital Play and Torment, etc..

I also disagree about just cropping out photo dates, to resolve the old photo problem. Just take some 0-3year old photos, and put them up. M

Well BTF, that is really a whole other subject, isn't it? I didn't mention a couple of times that he is a "self proclaimed" master. Of course, unless one is into the whole leather scene, everyone is a self proclaimed whatever, lol.

In regards to your comment, I personally think that someone who doesn't understand how TPE works isn't ready to own anyone, and that the "mistress" who "trained" him 30 years ago was likely pretty clueless as well. But telling the OP that based on his questions and his profile, he is living in fantasy land isn't going to make him smack himself in the head with realization, is it?

Oh, and he is claiming to be a "master" but aside from his TPE question, the others are definitely activities for male subs, which of course begs the question of what this "mistress" trained him to be all those years ago.

I don't get those folks either.
Me, I'm good at one or two things, average at a few more, and pretty much suck in everything else. You know, kinda like most people.
I am an expert asshat, though.
I will claim that one title for my own.

My favorite is those who are "experts" at receiving massages. Like there is some kind of learning curve to laying down and letting someone rub your back (or where ever). Perhaps the expertise comes in not falling asleep if the massage is done well?

Lol, no it isnt going to make him realize anything; but your reply was so nice, that I thought it was a diservice to his need to do some kind of reading/talking, get a clue, before declaring self "master."

Hey there, before getting rowdy, you ought to try reading my response, and understand it. I did read your profile, and your post, hence, my reply. You don't like my reply. You needn't listen to it/learn from it. Those were just my common sense suggestions, in response to your question. Free for you to take, or leave. M

First, as I mentioned in my first post to you, acting all dominant to people you don't know doesn't go over well. Second, on these boards, you don't get to give orders.

I've read your profile. It seems you are one of those who was "trained" to be an expert at RECEIVING massages. You don't find that silly?

Expensive tastes doesn't make one an expert in fine dining, and liking a good wine doesn't make you a sommelier. Since you claim to be an expert in movies, I'm sure you could tell me who won the Best Actor award in 1956; and what the importance was of Haddie McDaniel winning her Oscar? Those would be things a movie expert would know. Simply enjoying going to see many movies doesn't make you an expert.

You are an expert at begging? Which side of the kneel do you feel you are on again? Exactly how does one become an expert at putting masks on their partner? Is there some sort of manual needed to figure out how to do it? You claim expertise in web surfing, yet you don't know the simple net etiquette of not typing in all caps? Did you think that the more caps you used the more masterly you appeared?

You are an expert at auto racing? Really, you are a professional race car driver? Being an Indy or NASCAR die hard fan doesn't make you an expert at auto racing. You apparently must be a cartoonist, since you claimed to be an expert there as well. Oh, and a comedian?! Well, I can see from your profile and posts, you aren't a professional comedian, so I don't know why you put that down at all.

You are curious about Raves? Here is your first lesson: They are for teens an people much younger than you at 47.

You are curious about and a "beginner" at "Serving as a Maid/Butler." Again, which side of the kneel are you on?

Now, I know that BTF did read your profile, and obviously, based on the above there is no doubt that I have read your profile as well, and it causes me to reach only one conclusion:

Thirty years ago, a mistress trained you as her servant/slave, and you really don't have experience as a master at all. Please feel free to respond with a snappy, funny comment along with a nifty cartoon that you drew, since you are experts at both those things.

Sorry. But then you would be the perfect person to explain how one becomes an expert at it!

Well, I initially gave him the benefit of the doubt, but as you can see, after his post to you, my "niceness" wore off.

I've been battling a horrible toothache (getting it pulled Monday, hooray!), so I figured I'm in enough pain without banging my head against the wall to someone who is already too delusional to grasp the concept of the difference between fantasy and reality.

The others answered the questions about the definitions that you didn't know. I have to say, if I had "trained" anyone and they didn't know such simple, basic things about BDSM such as CBT and queening, I'd be thoroughly ashamed that, as a female Dominant, I had allowed somebody to remain so uneducated.

You also asked about why nobody answers the messages that you send and/or why people stop conversing when you tell them that you are new. What I might suggest to you is that, from reading this thread, regardless of whatever kind of training you had twenty years ago, the story just doesn't hold water. The part about how you keep calling yourself "master" but need to be told the simplest things, isn't exactly the first candidate that somebody is going to choose when talking about owning another person. From the profile, I see no reference to your prior experience in having a submissive of your own. If you had, that's not exactly why a person would get out of BDSM to have a wife and child.

All of those expert definitions? There's not a thing to verify you've got any more experience in them than hitting that expert button when you filled the profile out. Nothing. Most folks don't walk away from a whip for more than a decade and claim to be an expert at it. I don't care how good you think you once were. If you are out of practice, you're not an expert now and I'd be seriously concerned for anybody who agreed to be on the receiving end of that whip that you may not have picked up for years and years.

Rethink your approach. Be a tad more realistic. I'm sure your results will improve.

Addressing yourself as a Master and not knowing the basic terms such as TPE, is not going to get you anywhere.
Slaves or subs, expect a Master to be in control and well educated and if your asking them a bunch of questions on basically how to be a master, how seriously do you think they will take you?

Its likea nurse asking the patient how to give an enema, how much confidence do you think that instills?

There's your answer, right there. You know nothing of TPE, but claim to a Master. Beyond the fact that I pretty much ignore anyone who refers to themselves as "Sir" or "Master"....you've labeled yourself a Master and you clearly don't know what you're doing. No wonder she wouldn't have anything to do with you.

Just accept the fact that you need to go back and learn. Read books. You were given a good list. Get out to your local community an find yourself a male Dom mentor.

Dude, you claim that you were trained 30 years ago and that you have as much as ten years experience in some stuff. Also, that you are an accomplished Master and yet do not know basic things, INCLUDING common courtesy, and that you have to build M/s relationships, not expect them right out of the box.

To be very blunt, you're not good enough at making stories to cover. Stick to the truth, and try to learn.

A couple of things that stuck out about the profile:

1) being willing to reproduce in the future. You're 47 now, by the time the kid is an adult, you'd be almost 70.

2) This statement: "I'm also willing to train you right to your LIMITS and beyond" Limits are limits for a reason.

As a suggestion, maybe it'll be a good idea not to come across as rude or arrogant? The trick to being treated appropriately is to treat others in the same manner. Every person who posted a reply to you is speaking from their experience and their advice is sound. Your best bet is to address each as a person and not the role they identify with.

As to how your profile is written, it does paint you as being arrogant, condescending and a know it all. Consider rewording what you are seeking and include what you offer to another? A bit of give and take will go a long way to finding what you seek in a partner.

Well I do have expensive tastes in fine dining not like some people obviously. I also like a good wine from Margret River in Western Australia. Not all activities for example ( ropes I'm a beginner ) electrical play, medical play, suspension, toilet training, enemas, TPE, I'm curious about these things only as I haven't done them before okay. I don't claim to be your idea of a expert in what I know. I was doing everything that I'm a expert in for 10 years and about 11 months okay That's my training and experience and you? How much training and experience do you have?

First of all, having expensive tastes in fine dining does not make you an expert, unless we are using the incorrect semantics for this. Having money and spending alot of money does not make you an expert, it just makes you have money. You can still be an asshat with alot of money.

Having good taste in wine is not enough to be an expert; I love good wines, yet I cannot call myself an expert as I have not studied wine enough to be proficient.

Doing something for 10 years or more can make you an expert (possibly) in a professional sense, but in a kink activity sense, no. Why? Just because you have done something in kink does not mean that a) you do it well. You could be doing it wrong for 10 years and b). I may not like how you do the thing you have done for 10 years. Now, I do agree with someone like LadyPact who has conducted workshops on what she does, so to me, yes, she could be considered an expert.

I am mostly referring to men who just randomly check of all boxes and say they are experts at getting massages, etc. Silly.

Lastly, how much training and experience do I have? Well, in my profession, I have done it successfully for over 20 years so I could say I am an expert. However, in my profession, you can choose to keep learning and finding new ways to do what I do or you can be an arrogant jerk who thinks they know everything they need to know.

As for training and experience in kink activities, I have been involved in this since age 16 and I have managed to do most of what I always fantasized about. I am an expert in myself and what I like. It would seem odd to say I am an expert submissive because that is subjective.

When it comes to the word expert, there is either a provable benchmark of success, such as a certificate, etc. or it is based on subjective thoughts about one's abilities which is not necessarily going to be true for everyone.

This would be me! I am an EXPERT at laying there getting massages! I trained for years for that. Lol

ETA: I was at work one day(club) and we have candles on each table. This drunk chick's hair caught fire TWICE! So it's interesting to see but horrible to smell. Kana when you said that about the woman in the diner, it reminded me of that. Good times.
