Ya know, I tried once when I was being emotional over some stuff a few years ago. That thought lasted about ohhh..I dunno....two minutes before he made sure I wasn't going anywhere.

Yea because he knew he could still fix it.

UllrsIshtar -> RE: Why A Slave? (6/6/2013 10:30:13 PM)

Yeah, just like the hypothetically abused girl's owner thought he could fix it by letting her vent online...

I accepted that I've given whatever information to reach me if she is ready to really do something. But I cannot do more for her, yes, I know that. She was just an example of how consensual slavery can easily turn into non-consensual slavery, as well as go hay-wire.

I live in a country where I consider our ruling benevolent dictatorship. Kind of the same parallels. Luckily our leader or Master had good intentions and is good and really cared for the welfare of the country or sub, so everything is dandy. Big word is "luckily".

His logic was sound for his goal. He isolated her to make her feel helpless, got to give candy once in while, to keep motivation going.

tazzygirl -> RE: Why A Slave? (6/6/2013 11:17:47 PM)

Why does he need motivation? She cant escape, according to you.

He is selling her like a prostitute, according to you.

She has no money, according to you.

Society is not behind her, according to you.

If she does escape, she will either be sold, or returned, according to you.

He has no reason to motivate her for anything.

UllrsIshtar -> RE: Why A Slave? (6/6/2013 11:24:36 PM)

Sounds like he is wanting her to be happy in her relationship with him... he's obviously abusive!

tazzygirl -> RE: Why A Slave? (6/6/2013 11:29:29 PM)

I had to grab a drink just to have a reason for my head spinning.

It might be a drag to be around a woman who is crying and sobbing all day.

tazzygirl -> RE: Why A Slave? (6/6/2013 11:55:43 PM)

Again, why would he care? There are other women there, as you stated. There is money to be made. Sounds like a brothel to me. If one is whining and crying, another will take her place. Its really just that simple. After all, he is abusive, surely he cannot care about her.

So he cares about her happiness.

He's obviously just trying to get her to not feel sad anymore and feel happy instead, because it would be to his own benefit to be in a relationship with a happy woman!

How outrageous.

Especially considering that if he succeeds in making her happy and she no longer feels bad, he can't possible be abusive.

It's just a ploy, a ploy I tell ya! That man is only trying to make his girl happy so that he's sure she's not feeling abused, he's obviously pure evil!

Ah, my apologies. Thanks for the updated info (seeing that I rather forced you into being my nonconsensual example).

*nods* No worries. But there was a bit of super-dom aura starting to glow around me and I wanted to shake it off LOL. No, in the beginning we were newbies like everyone else bumbling our way along. IE didn't happen until maybe 3 years later. No question I was always the dominant one but I never wouuld've pushed her into a choice like that anyway unless I had a very certain notion she needed it, which she did not and still does not.

Well, I agree if he succeeds, his no longer abusive, she happy, everything is fine. But I still question why he had to isolate her from family and friends in the first place and how can the intention of that be any good?

PS: For you poor, oppressed coffee slaves... Cold-brewed is quick, brainless, highly precise, and depending on your tastes it's the best coffee you'll ever get. It also has substantially less caffeine in it (for LW). You basically pour some in a mug and water down to taste (it starts concentrated), heat it in a microwave to temp and serve. Makes as many cups as you need in advance. It's just not cool if you like the bitter oils and the burnt sugars that you get in hot brew.

Less caffeine??? What are you on man??? That's just sacrilege!! What's the point in drinking coffee with no/less caffeine? Sheesh. And I like my coffee hot from the beginning. I've tried the cold brew and it tastes weird to me. It's the reason I bought a little coffeepot for my cubicle at work. This way when my coffee gets cold I can just make another cup (Sigh....until Master is cutting it down now...wwwhhhhhaaaa. grumble grumble grumble. I'm going to dieeeee!!!)

I had to suffer with decaffeinated when I first got pregnant. Torture I tell you. I was so happy when I got past the first trimester and I could enjoy real coffee again.

LOL took the words outta my mouth. I was literally laughing and thinking "Sacrilege!!" as I was reading that.

Cold brewed and microwaved? That should be illegal!

Grind the beans (and it must be Peets), nice coffee pot (or better yet, my french press)...hot hot beautiful dark rich caffeinated soothing wonderful beverage.

If it gets cold I make more (there is NO reheating coffee for me lol).

Peets is rich and one of the few coffees that has no burnt or bitter flavor whatsoever (and french presses can really eliminate those in lesser coffees, just not as much). It's freakin heaven in a cup.

But then the Mister regularly calls me a coffee snob...

When I was married I wasn't allowed any coffee. The coffee pot was just for brewing if we had company. The very night I moved out I bought a new coffee pot and a massively huge much that said "CAFFEINATED" down the side. I still have it - it's the perfect size lol.

Not allowed coffee???!!!!???? Gasp. I would die or go crazy. I would be saying just step away from my coffee cup and no one gets hurt.

It was nuts. I didn't respect him enough to obey him on this one (obedience was mostly fear-driven in that marriage). I would just hit Starbucks up on my way to work.

It was a long drive to work and he suspected I did that and would call me to chat on my drive. I strategically learned where all the various Starbucks were and would change them up daily...or, once at work, I'd leave mid morning to go get a cup.

I'm a slave to coffee lol.

Moonlightmaddnes -> RE: Why A Slave? (6/7/2013 11:00:22 AM)

yeah, I love my coffee. I shop at Target because there is a Starbucks there. LOL We will have a winter storm moving in while everyone else is making sure they have enough bread and milk I am buying more coffee, just to be sure.

If it's abusive in the moment because it's perceived as abusive in the moment then the students in your class, who as adults claim their parents where justified in beating them are not valid proof they weren't abused as minors.

If all it takes to change if from abuse to "perfectly fine" is a change in perception, then all that matter is the how she feels AFTER he either succeeds or fails in attempting to make her happier by venting

As such, your conversation with her isn't proof of anything. If his plan worked, and she's happy now, she wasn't abused, either then or now.

Moonlightmaddnes -> RE: Why A Slave? (6/7/2013 11:15:45 AM)

I would think that is completely different. The difference between abuse or not is consent. A child cannot give consent.

I think it's completely different too.

Greta has argued that it's not.

I'm going off her logic.

Personally I think that if you extend the conclusions that train of logic would reach beyond the little pinpoints she keeps compartmentalizing it into it falls apart fast, but she doesn't seem to think so.

Moonlightmaddnes -> RE: Why A Slave? (6/7/2013 11:41:10 AM)

Oh ok. If it is consensual then it is not abusive. I have had people try to tell me that maybe I am scared of my husband and I consent out of fear. ROFL. Nope I am not that type of scared of him. I am the center of his world and he would never do anything to really hurt me. My mom would never get it but she was the one that was abused. She has a way of seeking out the biggest assholes and dating them. So I do not even go there with her knowing she would not see past he hits me.
