PS: For you poor, oppressed coffee slaves... Cold-brewed is quick, brainless, highly precise, and depending on your tastes it's the best coffee you'll ever get. It also has substantially less caffeine in it (for LW). You basically pour some in a mug and water down to taste (it starts concentrated), heat it in a microwave to temp and serve. Makes as many cups as you need in advance. It's just not cool if you like the bitter oils and the burnt sugars that you get in hot brew.

Less caffeine??? What are you on man??? That's just sacrilege!! What's the point in drinking coffee with no/less caffeine? Sheesh. And I like my coffee hot from the beginning. I've tried the cold brew and it tastes weird to me. It's the reason I bought a little coffeepot for my cubicle at work. This way when my coffee gets cold I can just make another cup (Sigh....until Master is cutting it down now...wwwhhhhhaaaa. grumble grumble grumble. I'm going to dieeeee!!!)

What's so wrong about that? Personally I think that sounds nice.

What's wrong with that is that, there is no escape if she wants to escape since she cannot travel without the approval of a father or husband.
In your case, it's bliss only because you don't want to escape your man.

It's the butterflies I tell ya. They're starting to distort his entire worldview.

We need to stage an intervention soon or we'll permanently loose him to the bright side.

If you wanted to escape Kana, think you could?

They always say?

I'm talking about my country where it is the norm. I did a anti-corporal punishment project before and 100% of the students in my class, about 70 teens, said (age group then 16 to 18 yrs old), yes they will beat their child in the future, and yes they deserved all the beatings their parents given them.

I felt pretty insane at their answers then as I don't approve of corporal punishment for children.

You know, I've sat here night after night wondering about that and everytime I laugh and say "yeah sure", the next thought in my head is "eerr..yeah right. You'd be lost". lol

So ya know...I don't know. Seriously. I'm not so sure these days.

Ya know, I tried once when I was being emotional over some stuff a few years ago. That thought lasted about ohhh..I dunno....two minutes before he made sure I wasn't going anywhere.

Yeah especially seeing that Saudi women can't actually be abused by not being permitted freedoms, seeing that they where brought up in a culture where this is normal...

This boils down to how I view non-consensual slavery as negative. If there are real life slaves, Saudi women are it. I couldn't care less if that is what they choose.
If they are confident the women would choose the same things if they have a choice, then there should be no fear on giving them a choice.
But if I spoke to a Saudi woman right now, who was brought up and talked about all the stuffs like it's normal and acceptable, I'll accept her view and not try to convince her otherwise.

UllrsIshtar -> RE: Why A Slave? (6/6/2013 9:39:39 PM)

I give up.

Your definitions of slavery and abuse are just too weird for me to work with.

A grown woman entering into a consensual M/s relationship having stuff turn out a little different than expected, but with tons of opportunities to get out IS abused, while the nonconsensual mutilation of pre-pubescent girls is not.

The nonconsensual beating and rape of a mentally handicapped person who can't consent is abuse, but the nonconsensual caning of minors legally incapable of consent, at an age where they mentally probably aren't able to consent either is not.

Saudi women not being allowed to go out without a man is abuse, despite it being cultural, but genital mutilation of pre-pubescent girls is not because it's cultural.

Every time I ask you about how you view and define things, you change them. I'm done for the night, I'm just going to sit here and lear at tazzy's new ass.

lol I felt the very same way... I made it to the parking lot once.. bags in hand.. sat down on the slide.. and bawled like a baby till he came and got me.

Its funny, an outsider watching might have thought I was being abused. Reality was, I was abusing myself.

There's no problem per se with corporal punishment for children, unless one inflicts injuries. But overusing it tends to lead to a problem, which is the lack of good porportionality between actions and reactions, which impairs learning of cultural norms and morality.

In an average kid, a bit of spanking does no harm, but neither does it do any good.

The real problem is parents who lack a sense of porportionality, which has been the case in every case I've seen where parents have been charged with violent abuse of their children. The rest of us don't need to use corporal punishment in rearing an average kid, for the simple reason that introducing porportionality early on tends to lead to avoiding things that might call for corporal punishment to preserve that porportionality.

Simply put, if you beat your kids for every little thing, whatcha gonna do if they do something real bad?

Bullshit.

A lot of countries have made their foreign aid efforts contingent on active work to change attitudes in the culture of the recipient nation. Sweden has been campaigning in this way to get Uganda to respect LGBTs. Part of what was done in the military intervention in Afghanistan was to attempt to change the Pashtunwali cultural elements to improve conditions for women, which has been successful in some areas, though it remains to be seen if there will be any long term effects.

littlewonder -> RE: Why A Slave? (6/6/2013 9:46:41 PM)

Exactly. I was doing the same thing and after we talked it out I came to see that I was just being over emotional and over analyzing things. Yeah, I go through that every couple of years where I start over thinking. I've learned to communicate it better to him though. It's just not always easy for me to do with my depression sometimes. Sometimes my depression takes over my emotions and all my thoughts go to hell lol.

Thankfully these days he's pretty good at figuring this all out before I even know it's happening. [:)]

She never said she was abused.... thats your perception.

She told you she was not happy. Hell, I wasnt happy all the time either.

You said she was introduced by a female friend... so someone knows where she is. An escape.

Do you honestly think you are the only one he allowed her to speak too? Why you? You are from a country that doesnt accept slavery... talking to a woman you claim is from a country deep into slavery.

All you have offered are your perceptions of her situation and the fact that she isnt happy with some things she may be doing. How do you even know you were talking to her? Did you see her on cam? We had a guy on the boards who pulled off being not just one female, but 4. he had a lot of people convinced. So it is extremely possible for a man to pretend to be a woman.

On the outside chance that this story you were given is real, sadly, unless you are willing to go in after her, you are going to have to let her go.

I would love to see the conversation between you two. Bet it reads like a sieve.... (doesnt hold water).

tazzygirl -> RE: Why A Slave? (6/6/2013 9:54:05 PM)

There was a meme on my fb page tonight "A wise man once said... nothing. He let her vent then they had sex after." Thats pretty much how we became. He could read my moods, knew when it was dangerous to push me, knew when he could get away with murder, and he loved toying with my emotions.

Ahhhh.. grins... men.

LOL took the words outta my mouth. I was literally laughing and thinking "Sacrilege!!" as I was reading that.

Cold brewed and microwaved? That should be illegal!

Grind the beans (and it must be Peets), nice coffee pot (or better yet, my french press)...hot hot beautiful dark rich caffeinated soothing wonderful beverage.

If it gets cold I make more (there is NO reheating coffee for me lol).

Peets is rich and one of the few coffees that has no burnt or bitter flavor whatsoever (and french presses can really eliminate those in lesser coffees, just not as much). It's freakin heaven in a cup.

But then the Mister regularly calls me a coffee snob...

When I was married I wasn't allowed any coffee. The coffee pot was just for brewing if we had company. The very night I moved out I bought a new coffee pot and a massively huge much that said "CAFFEINATED" down the side. I still have it - it's the perfect size lol.
