explain how Ecuyer carried out instructions from a letter that hadnt even been written.

Jeeez Polite, give it up already...

Officers at the besieged Fort Pitt had already attempted to do what Amherst and Bouquet were discussing, apparently on their own initiative. During a parley at Fort Pitt on June 24, 1763, Ecuyer gave Delaware representatives two blankets and a handkerchief that had been exposed to smallpox, hoping to spread the disease to the Native Americans in order to end the siege.[64] William Trent, the militia commander, left records that showed the purpose of giving the blankets was "to Convey the Smallpox to the Indians." [65]

K.

Nope.....The whole issue is was it deliberate British policy. Clearly it wasnt, even if you allow Trent some leeway in his alleged journal, the event took place a month before Amherst even suggested it. You would get laughed out of court trying to use that as evidence.

I still say that someone from the UK owes the world an apology for exporting cricket and the spice girls damnit!

It's not our fault you people can't follow the rules of cricket and think that rounders is a proper ball game for grown men, is it?

(As for the Spice Girls, you get an apology for them when your country apologises for The Osmonds, Hanson and NKOTB, and not before.)

First, wtf is rounders?

Now if you are trying to suggest that Baseball is not an appropriate game for adult men, actually males of all ages, to play, then for that sacrilege you will spend eternity in Newark New Jersey.

Rounders is a game played by children over here and large men in silly trousers over there. I believe you guys call it "baseball" because that's a less daft sounding name.

quote:

As for The Osmonds, Hanson and NKOTB, they were completely out of our control. Personally I blame the communists.

So how are the Spice Girls our fault if you people refuse to accept responsibility for NKOTB? Hell, The Spice Girls were Simon Cowel's work, and he spends more time in the 'States than over here these days.

I am more of a moorish style castle fan... English castles are so, how shall I put this, boring. Unless the came with some good looking 19 to 25 year old hot girl, or pippa Middleton.

Your knowledge of history is wonderful, I love to learn of the Civil War, as to apologizing then the South should have
answer to Andersonville, which had such horrifying things done!

The Northern States were angry because of the well treatment they give the Southern Soldiers, but the North prisoner of war
were treated so badly, I have seen the pictures!

I wanted just to throw in my knowledge as well!

There are so many things to to apology for but politics still play a part in th Southern States some people are
still mad as hell they lost the Civil War!

They still want their "pound of flesh" for the long ago War!!!
'
They even want to sections from the North due too Obama being reelected< that is strange as it gets

Actually, during the civil war, both sides had horrendous POW facilities. These conditions did not develop out of malice or plan, but because no one at the time understood what it took to house thousands of POW's. The Union's Fort Delaware was dubbed "The Fort Delaware Death Pen," while Elmira prison in New York saw nearly a 25 percent mortality rate. However, Camp Douglas in Chicago is considered by many to have been the worst Union POW camp.

There is a reason for the resentment in the south about losing the war. The southern states did nothing illegal by leaving the Union, and it was not about keeping slavery that they left. The reason was state's rights. In the years before the war, representatives from southern states in Washington put forth ideas on how to actually end slavery the senators and representatives from the north would not even consider.

The British Empire ended slavery in probably the best way possible, the Government used Eminent Domain to purchase all the slaves in the empire, and then promptly freed them, and declaring slavery illegal in the empire.

Considering how much of the South's wealth was tied up in slaves, freeing them as Abraham Lincoln did with the Emancipation Proclaimation effectively bankrupted southern plantation owners. After the war, business men from the north came to the south and bought up plantations at dirt low prices, effectively eliminating a whole class of people.

The South is still mad about the Civil War?
Can you name another part of the country were you are expected to be ashamed of your region?
I grew up in the midwest , which btw is more racist than the south, but since I came down here I am often declared to be an ignorant racist just because I live in Alabama.
There is a person on this thread who often whines about how often Brits are potrayed as supervillians (criminal masterminds) in the movies but if a man comes on screen with a southern accent he is
1 evil beyond redemption
2 uneducated
and or
3 totally unaware of hygene
