Status: offline 		It's funny how the New York Times chooses not to mention the $43,000 Rolex, in the list of things he bought with campaign cash. I suppose they even feel the need to cover for corrupt Democrats who plead guilty.

Yep. It's all because of the disease. He's a victim.

Perhaps President Obama will step out onto the Rezco Lawn for a brief statement (no questions, of course), the next time he is back home in Chicago?

Status: offline 		The thing that bothers me most is that all the crap he bought with his stealings was basically all bling. Nothing but show, nothing to help anyone else, nothing to better himself. I hate the culture that lives for show, and I would have expected him to have grown up better than that.

I wouldn't have expected him to grow up any better. When you consider a father who is as manipulative as his is, when you remember that his father is a raging anti-semite ("Hymie Town" remark, anyone?) and that he comes from the Chicago political machine that makes Tammany Hall look like the League of Women Voters, I'm not surprised one little bit.

I'm more surprised at his father's ability to "fly under the radar" all these years.

I promise; I wasn't trying to provide him with excuses. I just didn't think he would wind up too much differently than it turns out he has.

Let me try to equate it to something we all might be able to relate to:

Have any of you ever worked in a place where someone works and sweats and grinds and toils to build a business for themselves and their family? Their kids work there, during the summer or whatever but, eventually, the business builder retires and turns the reins over to ...

Ta da! Someone who hasn't worked for it and therefore, doesn't really appreciate it.

I've seen it happen twice in my own life.

Let's assume that Jesse Sr. Has never been anything but a fine, up-standing example of Christianity and the milk of human kindness






Sorry. I just threw up in my mouth, a little bit.

Let's assume that last statement is true. Jr. has been handed the keys to a powerful kingdom which he really had nothing to do with building and therefore, he doesn't appreciate the vast amount of responsibility that comes with that power.

I almost feel bad for the kid. Oh, don't get me wrong; I hope he gets the (almost) five years but, I think his path was almost predestined.

Or maybe there were, and the usual gaggle managed to shit all over them, and get them deleted.

I can understand why Chicago's history of political corruption would make some extremely uncomfortable.

Not all bling, Steve. The story I had time for this morning said he was also using the campaign cash for things as simple as Costco toilet paper. This was contempt for the law, and for his supporters, that goes far beyond bad taste, and dumbass wastes of money.

The story you linked to mentioned weird house furnishings, high priced meals, and sports memorabilia. The one I read prior mentioned furs, a Rolex, and jewelry.

Toilet paper?!?!? I suspect he simply commingled accounts and bought everything from the commingled account.

And I don't see Jackson going to Costco. Maybe he had servants shop for him? If so, either the servants were much better money managers than him, or more likely, they were claiming more upscale venues and skimming the difference.

I am not a bit surprised. He's a democrat and it seems the people on this board have much more fun trashing people when they are on the right. I am also not surprised that JJ spent a lot of the money on worthless bling. It seems to be a pattern with thieves. Maybe they feel it was easy money so they spend it as easily as it comes. It's a shame he couldn't have spent all that energy and money trying to help people. He could have accomplished a lot.

Oh and has anyone else noticed how the biggest bigots on the forums are the quickest to scream racist any time a thread is about some one of color. It makes me wonder if they truly understand what the words bigot and racist mean.

I suppose what bothers me is that he traded his honor and integrity for something I consider to have little no no value. His values are so different from anything I could relate to. It's odd that everyone else in this thread is focusing on how he sold off his honor, and I'm focusing on what he sold it for.

I can understand your point. I would probably feel a lot different if he had been trying to raise money to help a sick kid or something. But it rarely seems to work like that.

I think our federal legislators have all sold their honors to special interests, lobbying and corporations and have for some time in the rush to re-elect and become rich at our expense.

This one got caught because he dove in feet first and .........well.........too flashy.

It's like someone traded his brand new 2013 Porsche for a 1995 Yugo with a few pieces missing.
