No, you don't get it and never will.  Doma was ruled unconstitutional.

When was it ruled unConstitutional?

Isn't it just that the current President and his Justice Dept. think it's unConstitutional? Isn't it up to the SCOTUS to make that determination?

And, so there is no mistake or wrong allegations, I agree that DOMA isn't Constitutional, and have no problem with same-sex marriage. But, I do think there needs to be an actual ruling overturning DOMA, or legislation repealing it.

scrotus is ONLY for the purpose of state recognized which is purely political/commercial rights. You will not find any rulings in any court of the us that is for flesh and blood man with blood pumping through his veins. no need for it when dealing with slaves, since the purpose of slavery is commercial after all.

its up to scotus if its "We the governments" of the united states! lol

I love the way PEOPLE get completely forgotten in these discussions.

yessa sc[r]otus massa sir.

the fact that we need a decision from scrotus for gay marriage proves that point.

No, hardly anything is further from that truth.

As I said, free society, idiots, tinfoilers and ineptitude shines where it will.

You seem to be having a great time down on the nebulous insanity ride down at tinfoilworld.

Not that the feebleminded would care, but more than the second amendment has been declared to be less than unlimited in right.

(and none of them say do say unlimited in right, and that is very clear)

Section three of DOMA (which pretty much chucks the whole fuck-o-ree) in 8 different federal courts and the 1st and 2nd circuit court of appeals.
Since they were split decisions at the appeals courts, it will head for SCOTUS, I am betting.
Not the sort of news you are likely to get from Faux Nuze.
Not all the time does it gotta go to SCOTUS.  Generally when it is upheld unanimously, it is played where it lays, unless it is a teabagger issue like Roe v. Wade and it keeps getting challenged even when SCOTUS has ruled on near every issue surrounding the thing.

I don't watch Fox News Channel, or Faux Nuze, or any Fox affiliate News programs. So, that statement doesn't apply to me, fyi.

My only complaint with the Adminstration's decision to not defend DOMA was that it might not make it to the SCOTUS to be struck down. Doesn't seem like there is much momentum at all to repeal it, so it will likely have to be struck down.

Real0ne -> RE: "The Right Secured By The Second Amendment Is Not Unlimited.” (2/26/2013 7:56:02 AM)

so what advantage is there to state recognition and WHY would anyone want it in the first place?

Congress passed legislation and President Clinton signed it into law. Since there doesn't seem to be a big push to repeal DOMA, it is still the Law of the Land. Getting it off the books is important, since it won't be able to be abused by later Administrations.

++++++++++++++++++++++++

My only complaint with W and the republicans in congress that authorized torture and invading a country under false pretenses and werent shot as traitors.

But something else, why do you not think its gonna make it up to SCOTUS, this is big scuttlebutt and has been for some time now:

Yawn. How many Democrats voted to go to war with Iraq? Thanks in advance.

I want it to go to the SCOTUS. There has to be a case, doesn't there? If Bybee and Yoo had sent a brief to the SCOTUS claiming waterboarding isn't torture, would that have made a difference?

YAWN.

How many treasonous teabagger dipshits in the administration gave them forged information and knowingly lied to them? Thanks in advance.

Do you have some learning disability where like its groundhog day for you every day, and like you just reboot and recycle asswipe?

Once again, you are alleging that Bush was somehow connected to the Tea Party. Not sure how you get that conclusion. Considering the Tea Party's first protests were against Bush's TARP and Obama's ARRA stimulus back in Feb. '09, I'm confused as to where you are coming up with that asswipe.

papassion -> RE: "The Right Secured By The Second Amendment Is Not Unlimited.” (2/26/2013 8:41:35 AM)

The Democrats who voted for the war were lied to? Do you really think Senators and Congressmen don't do any checking of facts on their own, and just take the word of an administration they didn't like or trust? You really believe that or WANT to believe that?

mnottertail -> RE: "The Right Secured By The Second Amendment Is Not Unlimited.” (2/26/2013 8:59:28 AM)

What?  You mean the teabaggers actually are in possession of facts and that is why they sequester and ruin this country and vote in the largest and crushing debt in our nations history cuz they checked it all out and didnt believe Obama?

OK.  If thats what you want.

I most certainly am not. You ain't very good at this, are you?

Some of the neo-cons of the Bush era are still in the teabagger congress.

Here is a list of teabaggers, it ain't the Tea Party in any way shape or form:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Tea_Party_politicians

Note that they are to a man Republicans and dipshit neo-cons, without a fuckin bit of use about them.

Nobody on that list is:  Gillian V. Dipshit (T-Arizona).

The Tea Party has been co-opted.  They were co-opted almost immediately.

anecdotes I know, but there are millions of em.

That pissed me the fuck off too.  But at that point it was in for a penny, in for a pound.  I think we could have went straight to shot by firing squad and fuck the impeachment shit.

I'm very disappointed by this thread. I was expecting a lot more hysterical ranting, tantrums, excoriation and undirected abuse.
Standards are slipping, it seems.

subrob1967 -> RE: "The Right Secured By The Second Amendment Is Not Unlimited.” (2/26/2013 11:45:10 AM)

Who as ever claimed that the second amendment was unlimited in the first place? Isn't already illegal for persons under eighteen and convicted felons to own a pistol? Aren't there background checks and permits required to buy a firearm from a licensed dealer?

Perhaps we should require a permit and license for everything one should feel the need to buy...Especially those evil 2 liters of soda NYers would like delivered with their pizza.
