The question becomes, is Rodman really going to take basketball to communism or is Kim really trying to bring communism to basketball ?

Oh, I know that there is no taint of profits as you need real money for that and N. Korea has none. In fact, no parking, no concessions and no depreciation schedule. Must just be a photo-op.

What exactly does communism have to do with basketball? Are you really so ignorant of the subject as to think that socialist economies do not make money?

Probably the residual sand in the vagina, left over from this administrations new record for the shortest "diplomatic breakthrough," since the truce. What was it? Like three weeks from food deal, to rocket launch?

Does n.k. presume to tell us when, where and if we can launch a rocket?

When I see that a documentary from the DPRK is airing, I'll set the DVR, or catch it on Netflix. I always seem to find time for a good look, when photo collections smuggled out show up in chain emails. If nothing else, Rodman got cameras into the country, and may open some more eyes.

Open some more eyes to what?

quote:

It's tough to imagine, not just living in such repressive poverty and starvation, but the crushing atmosphere of complete reverence, submission, and outright worship of the state/godking, that attacks and destroys any who are not sufficiently adoring of the dear one.

You seem to be doing a pretty good job of imagining it???
Or
Have you been there and have some first hand info?

One thing that strikes me though, when they interview those who have escaped that place, is that three generations of the defectors family were likely locked in prison camps, after they made it out.

Once again you seek to inflict your imagination on this discussion...would you happen to have any actual facts?

I watched this on espn news today, I say more power to the rodman. As mentioned above nothing has really been working with talking perhaps basketball will bring the our two countries to an understanding. In the back of my mind though I'm wondering how many times he's been contacted by the US government now..Prior to and after his trip to NK.

I'll be interested to see if Dennis Rodman has more to say, once he isn't on the home court of an absolute dictator. Especially an absolute dictator with lots of prison camps, and the bomb. He ain't stupid.

We'll probably have to wait for the HBO documentary to find out what he really thought.

I get a kick out of Rodman's public escapades*, and I would absolutely party with him.

(*not as big a kick as that cameraman, mind you)

Says the party that regularly calls our President a dictator/hitler/fill-in-the-blank/etc....

Not sure if anyone realizes it but this clown going to NK was really a very profound insult.....to the NK`s....

The President may just have to call lil` kim.......to apologize ......

Actually you said "says the party" in reply to a person giving his opinion. But nice try. Your attemps to spin are getting boring, I'm through here.

North Korea has just vowed to end the cease fire with the South. I guess we will have to send Rodman back to finish with diplomacy.

Oh I see dear.....You weally can`t wead....

The little "fast reply" or general reply" means the comment that follows is meant for everyone.'

One shouldn`t necessarily take the "in reply to" to mean one is replying to that particular member.

At the top of the page before I wrote anything.....I wrote "Fast Reply"....You edited those words out as well as ignoring them....

You were done here, long ago but, provided some much needs laughs....

Considering it took dricky-dick "high cimes and misdemeanors" nixon to open up with the Chinese communists...

Maybe a clown act like Rodman might just actually provide some detente with the Koren communists.
