Just because the cult leaders say it doesn`t make it true....

I posted Paul Ryan taking credit for writing the sequester law/shirk, back when the gop-dopes thought it was a great idea.....

Now it`s the Presidents fault?

Fats(in this thread) and the cult is now implying that it`s no big deal while simultaneously trying to blame their mess on the President.

Could you guys at least get your delusions straight and stop contradicting yourselves(in the same thread)?

Spending has to be cut and revenue has to go up. The problem is doing it when the economy is still so fragile.

We're talking about eliminating at least 1.5 million jobs, most of which are good paying industrial jobs. In a month will the intransigent Republicans be howling that the unemployment rate spiked? When some large percentage of those unemployed start drawing food stamps and other government services, inevitable with an unemployment rate near 8%, will those deficit hawks be so pleased with themselves?

They'll be more than pleased.

(And, it's closer to 200,000 jobs...but who's counting?)

Maxine Waters told us it would be over 170 Million jobs lost... Make up our minds already

170 million jobs.

Considering there are just a smidge over 200 million people actually working in this economy (and we have 320 million in the country), I'm gonna question that 170 million are unemployed, or have lost jobs.

The point is there will be damage and job losses and a weakening of an alread fragil economy.......and the cons know this.

Ok so right now the jerk-off-cons aren`t going to admit that anything bad can come of this.....

Sooooooo ...we all know they`ll be blaming the President if there is damage.....cus that`s what these jerk-offs do...

What about the 2% tax hike that went into effect on Jan 1st? How much will that hurt the fragile economy? I didn't hear Obama mention that during his speech about the spending cuts yet I did hear that February income levels are the lowest in 20 years.

2% less take home pay, higher gas prices, higher grocery prices, what's left to spend or save?

"Going like Greece" is a fallacy that will never happen.

The biggest reason Greece's currency failed is because it is tied to the Euro.

We have our own currency. Tied to nothing but the good faith and credit of the US government. The only way this country can go bankrupt is if Congress refuses to raise the debt ceiling and defaults on the money they have already spent.

Why don't conservatives understand that simple concept?

You actually believe this "simple concept?" That it is impossible for the US to go bankrupt? That Congress merely has to raise the debt limit and all is well? Then according to you, the government can print all it wants as long as congress OK's it? That other countries that sell us commodities and goods will continue to accept this "paper" created out of air and backed by NOTHING? What do you do when other countries tell you "from now on, we will only accept gold, silver or hard goods for our goods."

The reason gold is valued, is because it is scarce, an absolute that cannot be "created into existance" by politicians like the dollar.

I think it's akin to deciding not to buy a chocolate bar on the way home from a binge-drinking and gambling weekend in Vegas. "Whew, I saved my personal finances by not spending $1.25!"
Big govt doesn't like even TINY spending cuts and will claim the system will implode because of them, as we've seen with "ceiling", "limit", "cliff", "sequester", and others.
US stock market made an all time high today. We're 6 trillion more in debt than we were, but we've managed to re-inflate the stock market!

Likewise. If a prominent Democrat said the sun came up in the east, what do you think FOX would do?
