disguisedgirl -> A moment in time (6/21/2006 4:22:10 PM)

I'm in disguise because I don't want my owner to view this thread as I'm making a surprise for him. Our third anniversary of my collaring is coming up. I purchased a watch for him, a symbolism of our time together. I want to engrave it with a special something and am looking for suggestions. I like subtle innuendo's that mean a lot. I want the engraving to represent our relationship in some way. The one that keeps coming to mind is "In your service" my only hesitation with that is it seems too impersonal. Any other suggestions?

Yes, why not engrave yourself?  Now that would really make an impression!  (No pun intended.)

I love the "In your service".  That pretty much says it all I think.

He is the only one allowed to engrave me iliv2servher.[;)] You all probably know who this is but Master usually only enters my name in the search and checks there so I'm hoping he doesnt come across this. Also I hate keeping secrets from him, so I had to share I had one so I wouldnt tell just go and tell him, which is what I normally do. I'm bursting at the seams wanting to show him the watch.

LokiBrat: yes its a good one, just putting it out there in case there is a more perfect one.

Calandra -> RE: A moment in time (6/21/2006 4:55:57 PM)

"in your service" might be impersonal, why not add someting that makes it personal,

in your service forever
always seeking to serve you
serving you for all time (nice on a watch)
you inspire my service

There's something that I find much more engimatic, but speaks volumes, if you listen...

"Timeless"

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: A moment in time (6/21/2006 7:53:09 PM)

The line I like to tell my partners is "I can't wait to spend forever with you"

SirKenin -> RE: A moment in time (6/21/2006 7:55:40 PM)

I think you are going to find that the watch surface is too soft to engrave unless it is a cheap watch.  The pen will slip, making a huge mess.  I have had this attempted before and as you can see it failed dismally.

Maybe try to find a harder substance to engrave such as gold or silver.

feastie -> RE: A moment in time (6/21/2006 8:09:04 PM)

If she takes the watch to a professional to do the engraving, it should be fine

Nope, I know this for certain.  I took the watch to the professional.  I would never attempt something like that myself on any piece of jewelry.  He warned Me ahead of time that it might happen, so I was prepared for the worst up front.  The only thing I have ever engraved was my driver's license number on my tools.

feastie -> RE: A moment in time (6/21/2006 8:34:40 PM)

Well, gosh, they engrave things all the time, don't they?  Maybe your jeweler just screwed it up.

SirKenin -> RE: A moment in time (6/21/2006 8:39:00 PM)

No, it is the type of metal that is used for the backing on quality watches.  It is very soft.  The pen tip has to be able to hold it's spot while it is spinning, which it can do in harder metals such as gold, stainless steel and silver, but on quality watches it can not and will slide across the surface of the backing.  It makes for quite a mess.

just a thought but what about this...

"Eternal Service...."

just a thought mind you

Kedikat -> RE: A moment in time (6/22/2006 1:37:43 AM)

If I got a watch from my love. I would like it to be engraved " Time enough for love "
Aside from the obvious, it also is the title of a good book. A book about finding reasons to go on forever, if they are good enough. ( a very short synopsis ). And always time love. Always time for my love. Many meanings, all good.

disguisedgirl, I only said it in the spirit of fun; and if your Master reads it, I sincerely hope that he has a sense of humor.  ;-)
