TeeGO -> Neat little trick for getting a reply on here. (6/22/2006 3:38:50 PM)

I discovered this by accident.  Of course it will do you no good without substance in your profile and a good answer for why you did it.

But.

Accidently on two occassions I had sent something to a Domme, but later unsent it.  They found the mystery too much and had to contact me as to why.  One of these days I might try this on purpose to see how it works.

Just thought I'd throw this little helpful tip out there.  [:D]

Hey TeeGO, does that REALLY work though??  I've done the same thing to edit a message but the original message was still read, even though when deleted, it was showing as having been unread.  This is probably a technical question for CM but I could swear that even if YOU delete a sent message from YOUR sent file, it doesn't delete it from the RECEIVERS inbox (?????).

Not certain though!

Daddysredhead -> RE: Neat little trick for getting a reply on here. (6/22/2006 6:07:36 PM)

yes it does...

I have unsent messages of my own and have received messages that only say "unsent by sender."  (no content only that message)

edited to add:
As long as the recipient has not already opened the message before it has been unsent.

MstrssPassion -> RE: Neat little trick for getting a reply on here. (6/22/2006 6:12:24 PM)

So, what would you say to the dominant woman who writes to you when curious about an "unsent" message?

That you were not sure about sending it in the first place?

That you discovered typos & had not corrected them yet so that you could actually send the message?

Hmmmm?

The first would show that the sender was indecisive. This is not a very good first impression.

The second may show that there really is not an interest since the sender was lax about making necessary corrections so that the message could be read.

Try all the tricks you want fellas... but if the woman has no interest or desire to reply or acknowledge your attempt to communicate, she won't.

&

If she finds out you tricked her into doing so... she's gonna be pissed! (just a little tip of my own)

Not really much of an issue considering no one ever responds to me anyway. [:(]

I think if you do it cleverly, and know how you will respond, it could work.  I'm not saying I could pull it off, but just like there are people who can pick up girls by stealing their hamster, there will be people who can write a perfect response to the WTF e-mail.

Yours,

benji

TeeGo, usually your ideas are pretty astute. I am sure this has to be tongue in cheek---when I see that happen, I think "pffftttty- idiot"--.

Ma'am, I would only recall a message to correct spelling/grammatical errors or perhaps phrase something in a better way.  No trickery here!  Now...if only I could get a response, LOL.

MysticFireTopaz -> RE: Neat little trick for getting a reply on here. (6/22/2006 7:12:33 PM)

Doesn't work with Me.  I have had that happen and have never once wrote to the person who sent them to find out why they messaged Me.    When I see "unsent" messages in My inbox, I figure either they sent the message in error, or they were the type that takes action, then chickens out.  Either way, they don't pique My interest in the slightest.  It obviously works with some Dommes, though.

Several months ago, a submissive male unsent NINE messages before he had the courage to leave one on there long enough for Me to actually read.  Even seeing the nine unsent messages, I didn't contact him, LOL.

Just what we need, another way to "trick" people.  Can't people just come out and introduce themselves any more?

I respond to the majority of my emails, even those annoying ones that just say "hello" and nothing else.  The only ones I do not answer are the ones that are just totally rude.

MistressLorelei -> RE: Neat little trick for getting a reply on here. (6/22/2006 8:33:14 PM)

Gee thanks TeeGO.... If I start getting a bunch of unsent e-mail from male strangers, I will know where to install a shiny, new chastity device. <smiles>

And TeeGO is such a sweet guy that instead of keeping his new neat little trick to himself, he shared!...and diluted its effectiveness. lol

On the other hand, if we do start getting a lot of unsent email, we'll know that those guys at least read the forums. [:)]

Well... If that one doesn't work and the guy is still persistent, you could always type in the word '' Hi '' and add a smiley face - That's sure to do the trick.

IronBear -> RE: Neat little trick for getting a reply on here. (6/23/2006 6:25:47 AM)

I did it once and when the Domme asked me why i had messaged her originally I simply pointed out that I had been short of sleep and had misread partd of her profile I had commented about.... We are now good friends and remain in regular contact....

Proprietrix -> RE: Neat little trick for getting a reply on here. (6/23/2006 7:17:22 AM)

I think I saw an unsent message in my box once. I didn’t give it much thought at all really. I chalked it up to "another quirky thing that happens on the internet."

TeeGO -> RE: Neat little trick for getting a reply on here. (6/23/2006 8:05:19 AM)

Yes I'm being silly. But I actual have done the unsend thing twice, for a valid reason, and had them e-mail back wanting to know what was in the unsent message. I admit I got a kick out of their curiosity.

I can see it now, hundreds of unsent letters showing up in mail boxes and I enter the witness protection program.[sm=hair.gif]

How can someone unring a bell?

DivaZya -> RE: Neat little trick for getting a reply on here. (6/23/2006 9:08:30 AM)

Damnation! you mean all the times I clicked on delete after finding a typo - it said it sent anyway - so I didn't follow it up with another .. hmm.. I bet a LOT of people on here are bent at ME for not replying!

GoddessDustyGold -> RE: Neat little trick for getting a reply on here. (6/23/2006 11:24:10 AM)

Laffing***
Well, this has happened to Me a couple of times, and I will admit I checked the profiles just because I was curious, but I do that with all received emails also.  All checking the profiles did for Me was verify that I would not have been interested anyway!
Now, dear boy, if we do start finding lots of unsent email in our boxes, best bend over and grab those ankles!  The Dominas will be lined up around the block to cause you untold pain and humilation. *W*

ArtimisBlack -> RE: Neat little trick for getting a reply on here. (6/23/2006 11:42:54 AM)

This in interesting. CM is the first site I've been on that tells you when someone has unsent an e-mail to you.
