I know I am going to come across here as a real dumbass, but I'm going to ask anyway. Is it pretty easy for people to record from your webcam on the site - or elsewhere - so they can post it elswhere if they want? I'm asking because a prospective dom is asking me to go on cam to talk, but then he wants to end with me doing intimate things on cam I'm not comfortable with. I'm not looking for online play or anything in any case; but he seems like a nice guy otherwise, and tells me he's looking for real time, but this is part of his way of deciding if I'm suitable. I know this is a bit like the 'please tell me' thread, but I hope people won't mind me asking something similar but different. Your advice and opinions would be very welcome.

Yes it is very easy and people do it all the time. I'd strongly suggest you don't do anything on cam you wouldn't be happy for your boss to see.

Thanks Athena; rather as I suspected. One of the problems for me is he seems so nice otherwise! But I suspect that would be a good ploy for anyone just wanting to mess with you anyway.

Lots of people doing cam verification -- some, not all -- are horny net geeks looking for a good time. Err on the side of caution. If the person likes you for real, they can and should wait to see you in person. Most of the time, I tell people right out the gate that I don't cam, send naked pics, or do that stupid voice verification mess...and voilà! Poof. They are gone. It's a pretty great way to weed folks out, actually.

If the guy is looking for realtime then what exactly is the point of making you perform stupid sub tricks over a webcam? I can see a "hello" and normal conversation as a part of getting to know you. IF he's playing online dom games then he's an online dom playing games. Or, alternately, maybe the only people he's interested in are idiots and fools. Or, alternate, maybe he's only looking for people who don't care about explicit videos of themselves scattered about the internet without their consent. I'm about to forfeit My 'biggest computer twit on all of CM' self designation. Dude, I'm an old chick who has been left behind in the technology arena. Even I can do the recording thing. It's not hard. I've got a cell phone with the capability. Seriously, if he's interested in real time, then, uh, meet real time. If he can't do that, he's not worth your time.

FR One point that Oside Girl and I seem to agree on is that you don't submit prior to meeting (and meeting more than once) in real time. Remember, just as he is seeing if you are "suitable", you should be doing the same thing to him. Just because you identify as slave or sub, until you actually choose to cede control, you are equals and have a say in what you will/will not do. Don't start a dynamic before you meet. What happens if you meet and the real time chemistry isn't there? If you've already submitted, then that makes it a little more difficult to extricate yourself.

~FRing it~ FWIW...I don't think you sound like a dumbass for asking the question you asked If I was a type of person who was ultimately up to no good and had ulterior motives, I'd make sure I was extra nice to you too. It keeps you less on your feet and therefore makes you more apt to give me what I want even if it goes against what you are comfortable with. It's classic manipulation. From my own standpoint, seeing you perform on cam has NO bearing at all on whether you are suitable or not. Only real time would do that. Sounds to me like he's full of shit. Trust your gut instinct. If it sounds like bullshit and stinks like bullshit, it's bullshit [:)]

I call BS. Not on your post, slaveboihere, but on his "way of deciding if you're suitable." What about your way of deciding if he's suitable? You've said you're not interested in online play, yet that's just what he's telling you to do. He's married. Otherwise he'd be looking for a real time meet first. In future, make sure you talk about lots of stuff, not just sex and play. And suggest meeting for coffee before getting into sexual/kink compatibility. Because if you're turned off by him in person, you won't be having sex with him.

Is there any way that software can allow you to be seen and yet avoid being recorded? . I use Yahoo Messenger which,is set up to allow someone talking with me to see me if invited so I have some control over who is doing the seeing. It would, however be more exciting for me if I were generally on display but I worry about being identified. johm

Nope, because even if it could, what is to prevent them from taking a portable 15 dollar slick cam and record you for rebroadcast? It cannot be unseen.

No, there isn't any software that stops people from recording you on webcam. There are programs that allow you to scroll text across your video (top or side), however; those scrolls can be edited out and even if they aren't they do not stop someone from posting that video.

I echo Jeff - Suitable for what? And does this request of his make HIM suitable for YOU? Nice is nice, but appropriate and compatible is a whole different ball game. I'm glad you discovered how easy it is to be recorded. Stick with your gut instincts.

I cam for personal verification all the time when someone else has requested it, but keep it g rated----period. Anything beyond that is unnecessary at first. Anecdotally....Anytime I have gone cam, it never led to a meeting. All our meetings were after a phone call and 60% of those have led to something more :). Most interaction has been through social events though like clubs etc.
