ORIGINAL: HarryVanWinkle While I agree wholeheartedly with this, I have to say that even seeing entire relationships can't really be demonstrative of what an entire relationship will be like. What I mean is, entire relationships in which I am not involved will not really show what a relationship in which I were involved would be like. And, you never get to see someone else's entire relationship. No matter how open, eloquent, and verbose I am it just wouldn't be possible to communicate 20 years worth of history all of which leads up to "now". I think human relationships are one of the most hideously complex things I've ever tried to study and I think that if you give them a few decades to simmer they quickly become inscrutable to the outside observer. Also a good point. How many stories have we seen in the news about extremely abusive marriages about which nobody who knew them had any idea of the abuse?
