What does equality mean again? Could it mean equal freedom of speech? If feminism is allowed, why do these feminists think men's rights shouldn't be allowed?

What's good for the goose is good for the gander. True equality means that if feminism is allowed, so should men's rights. If you don't think this way, you may be a raving gynocentric bigot.

Many to most feminists I come across, they seem to want their cake and eat it too instead of anything to do with equality. They seem to want to hog the centre of the stage or hog the microphone. In their minds, how dare men get their say about the grievances men go through in society, men shouldn't have that privilege to get on the stage and get hold of the microphone. All our issues should remain hush hush and in the underground.

One of the issues I have with "Equal Rights" Groups is the idea that giving the previously discriminated against group the "favored" status, thus discriminating against the group not previously discriminated against. That isn't equal rights.

That being said, I don't know enough about the situation you've posted to claim that is the case.

I'm all for protections and equal treatment under the law based on race, creed, nationality, gender, and medical disability (ADA). That's just the right thing. If private entities wish to provide scholarships and grants to certain groups from that that is their business. The use of public funds to do so I find problematic as it will only heighten passions of discrimination.

Now on to feminism. Really. Arguing over feminism, like (any racial group other than white) being racist towards white, is like pissing into the wind, nothing good will be accomplished and to others you'll be left smelling nasty. No matter how true or right you may be. Just face that there are "feminists" and the only time you have to deal with them is in the workplace and if you don't like it go look for work elsewhere. I've met many feminists while hanging out with gay friends. They tend to be dried up worthless, lonely, childless, annoying bitches. The ones I encountered at least, there could be lots of happily married (or happily single) that have everything they want in life for all I know, don't know, never met any that were. I've also never met a feminist I wanted to fuck so it's kind of pointless to really take interest in any of them. If you run into them in public just treat them like you treat someone who is "touched" (mentally handicapped). Be nice, talk kindly, and get away from them as soon as possible. Don't argue politics or anything, because you will be quickly labeled something negative as per the usual of anything remotely on the left. They love to throw out racist, bigot, misogynist, anything with a phobia it seems, without being able to back up the reasons for using it.

If you don't like someone's politics, don't shop where they own businesses (boycott), if you can legally not hire them (not liking someone and thinking they would not be a good fit in the office based on their personality), and don't donate money to their political party.

Ask them how their cats are. That'll be a conversation starter.

Thanks for the tips, TM. I tend to follow them already. Well, at least off-line.

First of all, let us define the most fundamental aspect of feminism. Feminism is wanting equality of the sexes. It is NOT female supremacy. A handful of extremist, men-hating feminazis are NOT representative of feminists as a whole. Although people seem to have negative connotations of the term 'feminist', everyone I know believes in equality of the sexes and is thus a feminist (including men).

Again, equality of sexes is NOT female supremacy. While I do enjoy that in the context of BDSM, in real life it means that women have the same rights to work and education as men but it ALSO MEANS (and here's the REALLY IMPORTANT BIT) ...men have the same rights as women! A man should be able to work as a primary school teacher (as a woman could) without facing accusations of being a paedophile or (insert homophobic slur here). Men should have the same rights when it comes to childcare as women - rights to paternity leave shouldn't be different from maternity leave! Just as women should have the choice between staying at home or having a job, MEN should have the same choice between work, family or a balance of the two. And for this to happen, we need feminism (gender equality).

Tl;dr 1) feminism is needed to achieve male liberation also 2) Feminism means equality, not female supremacy.

You shouldn't talk about your gay friends like that.

Agreed, but can men have a banner they can fly for equal gender rights under a name other than feminism? Or would that be considered sexist?

Lol these guys managed to get laid and have children? (I jest)

Yet how does that answer the question as to whether or not that is considered sexist to hold those views.

It's the Fathers4Justice branch of the UK men's movement: gents who think the way to convince a court that they deserve custody of their kids is to dress up as a superhero and climb up a building.
I fear there's a flaw in their logic, but I can't quite work out what it might be...

Personally, whoever is more able should raise the child. Able doesnt often equate to who has the most money, though it has been used to strip a parent of their rights simply because the other parent doesnt have an income. Eventually, that decision is given to the child to make.

As to the OP. Do I agree with them? Not in all cases. Do they have the right to protest? Yes.

'Masculinism' is one term. But the problem is that it's been hijacked so much by the righties. Many on all sides of the argument, apparently, have bought the righties' definition of the term, with one result being that 'masculinism' is seen as not much more than synonymous with 'anti-feminism'.
