I dont have a long goatee but I do have a large wallpapering brush, if it helps. [:)]

You ever tried a beard, PS? Myself, I've tried a few times, but it's always looked crap. I get thin lines of bush down my cheeks and two very dense tufts on my chin. I just look like a dick with a beard, sadly.

Well, you should get rid of it, unless you are a professional magician or a Grand Vizier in some middle eastern country.

Or a villain that likes tying damsels to railroad tracks...

Yes, that'd do. You're getting the picture. Excellent. [:D]

It itched like mad, I was told I looked ten years older.....It went after two months.

I tried, for a while, but I kept getting distracted by women's nostrils. Women's nostrils have always done something powerfully magical to me. Well, along with their buttocks and grooblies, of course.

Women with beards have never got the juices flowing for me, though, I shall admit.

Well done on keeping it going for two months. Me, I couldn't manage more than a month - the itching drove me up the wall. And jeez, I could never get past the feeling of having a 'dirty face', either. I hated that.

Politesub53 -> RE: Does having a lot of facial hair "say something" abut a man? (4/6/2013 5:13:55 PM)

I shaved my errr.......bits, but it didnt make me look twenty again.

Politesub53 -> RE: Does having a lot of facial hair "say something" abut a man? (4/6/2013 5:15:06 PM)

I got round the dirty face by not washing....... I ended up hosting a family of Robins.

Villains with goatees rock! [:)]

As with hair color, hair length, and most any thing else, some men can pull them off and others can't. I don't think it says anything particular about a man, other than his preference.

I had my beard for a couple of years, and and really liked it, but decided to shave it off. (Because, you know, what if I just didn't remember how much I liked my butt-smooth face?) That lasted for about a winter, and I grew it back. I just couldn't stop thinking of naked mole rats when I looked in the mirror at my shaved face. Kind of a shocking thing, right away in the morning.

Don't be ridiculous. Of course you're not. You're only saying that because he might be reading.

All men I've dated seriously in the last 15 years (or 7 out of 8 of the guys I've dated) have had goatees. I have a thing for them.

And I wish he might be reading... it may make him change his mind about growing his back.

lmpishlilhellcat -> RE: Does having a lot of facial hair "say something" abut a man? (4/6/2013 5:39:04 PM)

I like beards. I've always liked them. In fact, most of the men I dated had beards. My husband has a beard. He shaved it off once. I begged him to grow it back. It's not long or anything like that. Just long enough to not be scratchy. It makes him more teddy bearish instead of military.

I don't know what it says about the men or me, but I like it. :)

MrRodgers -> RE: Does having a lot of facial hair "say something" abut a man? (4/6/2013 5:40:42 PM)

A lot of facial hair usually means a lot of hair. A lot of hair usually means a lot of hormones.

Baroana -> RE: Does having a lot of facial hair "say something" abut a man? (4/6/2013 5:40:55 PM)

This is essentially the facial hair pattern that inspired this thread.... except the beard was longer and shaggier.

I hadn't realised that a man's beard could become un-scratchy beyond a certain length. I thought they'd always be scratchy. Interesting.

I can relate to that, actually.

Beards are also advised, apparently, for men who don't have lips or smiles that they like. I don't like my own lips or smiles. I'll probably give a beard a try again, some time. So long as it doesn't come out ginger - always a problem with blondies such as myself. And so long as I don't get two distinct tufts on my chin - I have a cleft chin, and that's common in men with chins like mine. It can end up looking like two miniature hairy buttocks.

Beyond a certain length they're better than clean shaven.
A clean shaven cheek with stubble coming in at night feels like sand paper and is rough enough to cause skin abrasions.

Beard hair becomes almost soft beyond a certain length, and even at a relatively short length, loses its abrasive qualities.

Lucylastic -> RE: Does having a lot of facial hair "say something" abut a man? (4/6/2013 6:01:53 PM)

My hubby just shaved off his beard after four years, my gawd the shock, the neighbours have been calling me mrs claus for years it seems, now hes all nekid again. His was long enough for him to do the santa thing, he made the santa on the other page look like an amateur. it was pure white too. I kept threatening to braid it with beads for the summer.
I like a full beard, I love a moustache, but it has to be "tidy" but im loving the nekid face again
