It depends on what inferences you're drawing, it could be that conservative gun nuts run wild amongst unarmed liberals, which is still a good argument for the 2nd amendment - maybe a better one even, given:

Just to be fair however, all the fair weather conservatives waving the flag right now who supported the PATRIOT act a decade ago, citing their deep seated fear of strange men in turbans and anybody but White men in general is still pretty fresh in my mind.
I have to come down on the side of the Constitution on this one, but somehow I suspect a lot of the rhetoric here emerges from the same source.
Of course it may all be a false flag situation, it's certainly driven up the price of semi-automatic rifles, they want 2K for a fucking Garand here.
When guns are that expensive, only rich people will have guns.
