I saw this today.. considering all the other shite the govt has in place to "protect America from terrorists".. you would think making it harder to get a gun would also be part of that.. I guess the cops from the survey dont think its a big deal but I just wonder how Americans feel about this dude in the vid and what he is telling nutbars in the USA to do..

So let's see. Islamist radicals would like to do away with our Western freedoms force us to live according to the law of Allah. And you think it would be a good idea for us to just go ahead and give some of them up quietly on our own. Did I get that right?

tj444 -> RE: Cops and Guns (4/14/2013 1:45:48 PM)

you are the one playing games by attempting to claim i said something i most certainly did not, you are the one making the accusations here, not me.. attempting to pose it as a question is no less an accusation & its insulting.. games like that are one reason why many posters have stopped coming here..

and you have shown me before that you have no idea what my political opinions actually are.. You conveniently ignored what i said about all the other considerable measures the US govt has instituted in the "War on Terror" but it has very oddly ignored the gun issue in all of that.. I have gone into the building dept of a city and told I cant have a map showing me what areas have public services "due to terrorists" yet any "terrorist" can easily get a gun in many states.. no changes have been made to limit a terrorist's access to guns.. what if Lanza had been a jihadist terrorist that went into a school & killed 2 dozen children? what would peoples reaction & opinions be then, I wonder..

the cops seem to think the Lanza's of the US (just as the jihadist terrorists in the US) are no big deal, cuz if they did they would be for legislation limiting access to guns.. they are probably right tho, since there are so many guns everywhere that its like closing the barn door after the horse has left.. so I think the US is stuck with guns and the death, spree killers and violence that comes with them..

Spare me the evasions... here are your exact words on topic of the video... I guess the cops from the survey dont think its a big deal ...

And in the video, the speaker specifically calls for killing Jews and their brethren.

Had you answered with some sort of explanation that it wasn't what you meant, I could have seen that. That's why I asked a question, instead of making an accusation.

But when your response is to simply deny that you said what anyone can scroll up and see that you said, that makes it look like another one of your long string of polemic games, which I refuse to play.

quote:

ORIGINAL: tj444

wtf did you get that from? I never said anywhere that the cops in the survey "must be in favor of whackos killing Jews".. why dont you stop putting your words in other posters mouths.. I have seen you try that shite with other posters also..
quote:

ORIGINAL: Powergamz1

Did you seriously just make the ridiculous assertion the 14K+ cops in the survey must be in favor of whackos killing Jews, because they don't mirror your political opinions?

Objectify much?

The govt has already taken away many of the freedoms Americans had before.. why were those freedoms & rights any less important? Honestly, its harder for me to buy my allergy meds than it is to buy a gun.. and when I do buy my meds I am limited to a certain amount (2 packages), my DL is scanned and the govt database is accessed to see if I have govt permission to buy said 2 packages of meds.. where is the logic?

But no, I was not saying Americans should give up more rights.. I was asking what Americans think about the possibility of jihadist terrorists doing what Lanza and other nutbars like him have done.. it does not seem people (or the govt?) have even thought about that.. shouldnt that also be part of the debate tho?

Everyone that goes makes the next right more important to protect.

Fair enough. If that's what they, or more nuts like Lanza, are going to do, then we better be armed, more of us than now, because there aren't enough police to bodyguard every man, woman and child; because responding after the fact is too late; and because no matter what you outlaw - alcohol, drugs, abortions, prostitution, whatever - a market will spring up to provide it, and people will get it anyway.

I dont agree with that.. but like I said, I think at this point there are so many guns out there that new gun laws are too little too late..

Currently there are more than 300 millions handguns, rifles and shotguns owned by the citizens of the US, how many more guns do you think you'll need?

Adam Lanza was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, a form of autism, neither have anything to do with violence.

If you are thinking of the Qur'an much like the Bible it is the word of Allah, as claimed by the Prophet Muhammad given to Muhammad by the Angel Gabriel. Then there is Shari'ah Law, so which one are you referring to or are you talking about both?

I have experience in Domestic violence cases. The person being investigate never tells anyone about their guns. We usually got the information from another person. Another thing was we never entered the home, not until the people inside came out and we searched them. You seem to lack any evidence of your view, it just assumptions and you comments show some bias.

Did the Barney Fife reference offend you? I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings.

Not my feeling as I said your biased.

It wouldn't matter if there were 10 times that many guns if only a dozen people had them, so I've bolded the operative portion of the quote for your convenience. It would be a pleasant surprise if your replies displayed some semblance of being informed and relevant.

In 2012, the share of American households with guns was 34 percent, according to survey results released on Thursday. ~New York Times

Your objection to me referring to somebody who runs off the rails and starts mass-murdering children as a "nut" is noted.

What would you suggest?

I would suggest comparison for a person with a genic disorder but from your post I have read, you lack it.

Normally I would agree, however looking at some of the so called legitimate gun owners post in reference to others opinion I would say they lack compassion as well and deserve none in return.

And that contempt should, of course, be extended to those of us ,a majority I might add. who want improved care for the mentslly ill.
True I have no compasion for those, regardless of motivation, who make a "sane" decision to do harm, regardless of the weapon they choose.

Powergamz1 -> RE: Cops and Guns (4/14/2013 9:05:11 PM)

Perhaps you are misapprehending that application of modifiers. In the case of 'a green car went to the store, it is the car (noun) that is doing something, 'green' just helps distinguish which car.

In the case of ' an Islamist radical went to the store', it is the radical (noun) that went to the store.

Surely you aren't thinking that the only radicals in the world are those who just happen to be Islamist, are you?
