This is a spin off from a thread on the General board. One of the thoughts that came from that thread was about how a certain Dominant woman must have really been submissive. She did certain things or acted in a certain way, yadda, yadda.

I tend to think that some of this 'she's not Dominant' bit comes from some people believing in the concept of Dominant acts and submissive acts. Personally, I think that's a lot of bunk. Dominant women tend to be well rounded creatures and frankly, if somebody told Me that I was doing something and I "seemed submissive" I'd probably turn around and say that I have the authority to do what I please.

With this in mind, and in the spirit of breaking stereotypes, I thought it might be fun to share some of the things that we, as Dominant women, do that if somebody saw that snapshot, might be considered a 'submissive' thing. I'll start with the first one that came to My head.

I am a kick ass host. When people attend parties here at Leather and Lace, they know that they are going to find every comfort that I can provide. While I don't have the skills to prepare gourmet food, guests know that they will find a variety of dishes on the menu. If they have been here before and ask for a certain dish to be made again, it's going to be here when we hold the next dungeon party. Before menu planning, I check to ensure that I am prepared with a vegan dish if necessary and make sure there is at least one sugar free snack if there is a diabetic on the guest list. I keep track of everyone's soft drink and coffee preferences and ensure those are available. If we have overnight guests, I prepare breakfast in the morning and people get their eggs in the way that they prefer.

Sounds really service-y, doesn't it?

I think it's fine that a shorter dominant woman goes around making breakfast for people, LP. It's just not at all appropriate for a femdom who's, say, over 5' 10".

I hope that helps.

One of the groups we belong to used to rent a hall to for play parties.  At the end of the night everything had to be clean or risk losing the deposit.  Everyone, dominants as well as submissives swept floors, wiped tables, put away tables and chairs, and took out the trash.  It would all get done in a short time with everyone working together.

Revise that number. Just got 14 new chicks and 5 turkeys.

You're too funny Peon. I'm 6' tall and I love love love to cook and hostess get-togethers/parties. Actually, I love to cook as long as people like to eat it(and my friends say I'm a damn good cook). I love to do complete holiday dinners, I love to clean my own home, I even love doing laundry. I really do. That's why, in a sub, I prefer someone who does personal things rather than domestic duties, i.e. retrieving my coffee, handing me a towel after a shower, painting my toenails, massages, blah blah blah. lol

Yeah, but it takes extra effort for us short gals. We have to climb step stools to reach what is on the shelves.

LP,
I like cooking as well, I don't like doing dishes
though, I enjoy groping the boobs of the person
whos doing the dishes, but I definitely don't
enjoy doing the dishes myself...
So my vote is:
-Cooking is ok.
-Dishes are not ok 90% of the time.
-Groping is ok. (what you grope may vary)

I tried to come up with something I do that might seem submissive to an outsider and I just can't think of anything. If I'm doing it, I am in control of it and that's about as dominant as it gets, to me. If I've given instructions to someone for how something should be done or even just told them "I want X done, make it happen," I'm still in control of it. I've just delegated the task. My will is being done, regardless of whether or not I am directly involved. Still dominant.

So, yeah...I got nothin.

I enjoy coming up behind a woman who's doing the dishes, lifting her up and swinging her her legs side to side like a pendulum. I don't know why - it's just a satisfying feeling.

However, my pleasure in this activity is hardly germane to the topic at hand.

I, as a dominant woman, NEVER give birth. Lying there with my legs spread while a watermelon sized person who might even be MALE tunnels through my vagina??? How much more humiliating and masochistic can it get???

Woo hoo, I'm tall enough to make the boys go make us breakfast, and serve us.

I used to have great parties when I lived in a single family home, and like you, I took care of the details, to make sure I had food, and drinks that the guests enjoyed. On New Year's eve, it included breakfast. Everyone knows I'm not the cooking, cleaning, and serving type on most days of the week.

So, yes, Dominant women do whatever we want to do. M

I don't identify as a purely dominant woman, but I totally dominated the whole ~give birth~ thing. It was exactly how I wanted it, where I wanted, with who I wanted, I ate/drank what I wanted, moved where I wanted, and pushed when I felt like it. I didn't have any medication, I didn't poo in the big, fancy hot tub, and I didn't shed a tear. I was home within hours and out in public the next morning. I felt like one tough, in-control SOB, and I OWNED THAT BIRTH. *bangs chest*

However, my watermelon baby was rather small and female so...

To add to those who already responded... I find it funny that a few of you associate party planning and caring for the guests' needs as a submissive trait. I think of that as more of a dominant thing. You're orchestrating the whole event and carrying it out as you see fit, down to the tiniest, yet important, detail.

I get accused of not being dominant all the time for various reasons. I just raise my eyebrows, make my lips all fat like and flip them off. There! Real!

Trying to figure out how other people might think and perceive me as anything is mind boggling and not good for me, so as super domina, I'm going to go drink some more coffee and plan how to make some lives... challenging.

My thing is making a fire. I have a wood stove and I want it done just so, in a certain shape, with the kindling on the bottom and logs stacked just right so the flames will be symmetrically pleasing.

I also have a rather involved coffee drink recipe. Try as they might, the boys just can't quite get it exact and since it's my ONE cup of coffee, I want it perfect. Therefore, I make it myself.

I get that completely, MDA. There really are certainly things that fall in the "if you want it done right, you do it yourself" category. I can't tell you how many times I've said that in the past couple of months.

I've known many dominant women who loved to cook. I have not problem with that. But anybody who claims to be a dominant woman but willingly does the dishes is OBVIOUS fake.

Oh! Great excuse not to do my dishes! As if I needed one. I must not do dishes, it would be undomly of me. That's going to work. Then if I were really a dominant woman, I would have six slaves competing for the pleasure of doing my dishes.

I'm doomed.

lol Doing dishes keeps my fingernails neat and clean. I do however like a sub who does dusting and floors. Those are the two things I dislike very very much.
