Without them at times the board would be boring.

Don't take exception to the negative posts...we all get them and deserve them at times as well. Unlike most I do understand your premise. But I think you would be better served to say the majority rather than all may desire to be submissive. In my experience there are more submissive than dominant. I don't know if this is true in the so called vanilla side but it is true I believe in this lifestyle.

Why this is true is certainly complicated and I'm sure there are countless reasons on a personal level but in general I believe it comes down to human nature. It is easier, safer, less stressful,and less fearful to follow than to lead.

Your professional life often has little to do with your private life...at least that has been my experience. It is possible and common to be the complete opposite in temperament in each.

It would be quite unfortunate if everyone wanted to be dominated.
That would mean there was no one around to be dominant and to dominate those of us who are submissive.

Having stated the obvious, I will add that most of us are not "cowering subs".

And yes, sometimes, fantasies are fantasies and do not need to be fulfilled.
Reality is separate from fantasy for a reason.

Generally speaking, it is much easier to get one's needs met if one is honest about what those needs are.
That seems to be something you struggle with, OP.

Perhaps a kink-aware therapist could help you sort that out.
