Do you think this is an impeachable offense, like Watergate?

If you do, how far down do you think it reaches? Will it include Joe Biden? Do you think Boehner, Leahy, or Kerry had any part in it?

Could you even imagine if Obama and the 4 others I mentioned all were shitcanned over this? We'd have Jacob "Jack" Lew (Secretary of the Treasury) as the new President. Man, that would be a complete mess.

Well, Nixon wasn't impeached over Watergate. He resigned and, after his resignation, the special prosecutor said he didn't think he could have impeached him, anyway.

If the accusation of the defacto embassador (I'm sorry. I don't remember the names) is proved to be true, I think it is an impeachable offense. While I believe an impeachment could be achieved, the current failure-in-chief would never be removed from office because his cronies in the media won't let that happen.

Why do I think it's an impeachable offense? " ... and will to the best of my ability preserve, protect and defend ...". If the accusation is true, the pretender-in-chief failed, miserably.

I think the shit always rolls downhil. How far down? I think Hillary's deputy who made the rounds on 5 shows that weekend is in some deep do-do.

I strongly doubt that the speaker or the Pres. Pro Tempore had anything to do with that decision because I'm pretty sure it was close hold, inside the administration and Kerry wasn't in the cabinet at the time but I firmly believe the anti-christ (Hillbilly Clinton) should take another turn on the hotseat in front of congress. It was very interesting how she exclaimed in such a loud voice that it didn't matter what happened, she just wanted to "move on".

Peace and comfort,

Michael

One of the whistle-blowers (who became the defacto embassador, once that poor embassador was brutalized and murdered) is prepared to testify, under oath, that there were troops who could have come to their aid and the administration told them to stand down. That, for me, is the issue.

The "troops" in question were in Tripoli, 650 miles away, and could not have arrived in time, was only 4 men and were only armed with sidearms.

Always remember if a host on FNC says something you should fact check it because they are usually lying.

Right.... The White House and The State Department did everything humanly possible to save American Lives under attack. You are right.... why is this even a story... there are children hungry in America tonight.

It's only a story because Roger Ailes thinks it is something to keep the right riled up over.

Did administration officials spread disinformation? Yes. Would you really want them telling the terorists we knew who they were and were already in pursuit?

Did the administration send the actual combat troops in Triploi to assist the consulate and CIA forces? Yes. They actually chartered a flight and left hours before the 4 men in the new claims even attempted to get on the Libyan military flight headed there.

Did Sec. Clinton deny extra security for the consulate? No. Both the Congressional and the State Dept investigations confirm that fact.

So what exactly is the right wing hissy fit over?

It isn't the act itself that gets them. It is the effort to cover it up. Nobody really gives a shit the Wild Bill got his dick sucked, and some freaky little shows from the sexretary, it was the lying under oath about it that stained his Presidency with the word, "impeached," even more deeply than the First Spooge stained Monica's dress. It was Reagan's mea culpa on Iran-Contra that let him get away with it.

Now I'm already laughing like hell at the people trying to claim there was nothing that possibly could have been done to help.

Straight up; If the United States of America lacked the military capability to launch an immediate land or sea-based aerial show of force in the coastal Mediterranean, that right there is grounds to remove the CIC for gross dereliction of duty. If a United States embassy in an unstable and violent country lacked even simple long arms for its security, then that SecState should be fired in disgrace. But please, do keep digging those holes.

So was there a cover-up? Is there one taking place right now? It is already a fully established fact that the White House sent people out to tell utter lies to the American people. How much further did that effort to conceal the reality go, and how far might it be going right now, as the story comes back into the light?

It'll go where it goes. Probably nowhere. At this point, I'm only watching it unfold in glances, just in case it gets to be something worth paying more attention to.

While others are of the committed belief that Obama being in the White House excuses anything the man might decide to do.

US forces did respond while the attack was under way. Those were the guys who chartered a plane and flew there while the attack was underway. They had long arms. They arrived before the mortar attack that killed the last 2 men.

The 4 guys who only had sidearms were reviewing embassy security and were not equipped for combat.

I still do not understand how these established facts cannot seem to penetrate the heads of right wingers.

Thank you both.

This just has me scratching my head; if they tried to cover this up, why?? No real benefit vs tremendous potential damage.

Could it be that they were so sure nothing like this could happen that they could not accept the truth till it was too late, then they eighter cover up or admit they screwed up just before the election.

That there was a rush to hide their huge fuck-up is no surprise to me but, I believe that much like Nixon might have survived the Watergate mess had he not covered it up, I think this is going to become very serious.
I wish FNC had the entire segment posted (they don't, as yet) but the heavy fellow started off, unable to believe any of the accusations. When presented with facts, he finally said (something very much like): "If there were troops that could have gone to these peoples' rescue and they were prevented from doing so, someone should go to jail".

Only if they went down st the same time, more likely it would be someone appointed and approved by the new president whether it was Biden , Boehner or whoever, you forgot that wildcard.

It doesn't look, at this time like Kerry, Leahy, or Kerry were involved, and possibly not Biden.

Ok, I did. The 6th was not in position to assist and no marines were either. So what was your point?

You didn't actually believe the crap FNC and Issa were spreading before the hearing?

If this turns out to have been a cover up, how serious is it? The same level as Iran-Contra?

That will depend on how the various media outlets choose to cover it. Considering that the bearer of the official lie was dispatched to 5 Sunday morning news shows to spread it, that answer might not be the one the administration is going to like.

Meh.....it`s just politics....
