Me personally will not give anyone my hard earned money if they are, bigoted, racist, etc etc etc. I live in a tiny town (got less then a year left here WOOOOOT) and I drive 100 miles to get my military haircuts because the barber here is all of those and more. Preference is all. Was taught that you judge based on actions and not looks. I also have a zero tolerance for intolerance heh.

If most people were like us, they would feel the full weight of their stupidity immediately. Alas, it is permitted. M

Alas, truer words were never spoken. Then again I would have never shopped there anyway since I am of the belief that if I really really wanted a twig.... I would go into the woods and fetch one. just sayin.....

I've never been in A&F as I knew they didn't carry plus size clothing. Some stores surprise me when I discover that they do, however, like Christopher and Banks. They one C & B store I was in had a pretty large plus sized department. OTOH, the Kohl's store in my area doesn't have much of a plus department and neither does the Target. Sears and JC Penney departments are always bigger then smaller depending on the amount of stock... I love Lane Bryant but they are super expensive, even when stuff is on sale. I was going to apply for a part time job a Lane once until I realized that I'd blow my entire pay check on clothes.

. . . some rich dude, Mike Jeffries, who is really unattractive by the way . . . .

I've just seen a picture of him. Jeez, some poor horse somewhere must be wanting its teeth back.

I know, I had to go see what the man looked like and I'm sorry now as I can't un-see him. Eek. That is a truly weird looking dude.

It would be a story if it was only A&F. There's plenty of places that don't want fat and/or ugly folks around, they just don't advertise it as well.

Quite.

Ugly people are not wellcome in Heaven nor Hell either, I so declare. Fat people, though,... I imagine that some fat people may be wellcomed there, since the fat may be burned away.

eehh...I shop there once in awhile when they have a good sale and I see something I like. I don't really care what stores do or how they advertise. If I see something I like and I can afford it, I buy it. Businesses do what they are supposed to do...make money. They specialize in certain clothing. If they don't fit you or you don't like them, then there are plenty of other stores that specialize in just what those other people want. I don't like clothing at places like Chicos that look like stuff my mom would wear so I don't shop there. It's not advertised to those like me. I'm fine with that.

[sm=biggrin.gif] Peon, that was too funny!
So than I did search for a photo of this guy, and realize that he would NEVER be allowed in his store?! Good grief! His teeth are the least of his problems, as far as looks go.

Littlewonder, I'm certainly not taking a day off to organize a protest. I do feel a certain way towards what I feel is exclusive stupidity advertising, but it's neither here nor there, given freedom of speech and all. I'm definitely not worried about whether mr ugly thinks bigger/ugly people ought to shop at A &F. [:D] M

I love it, and I hope it catches on.

ETA: I don't "share" much on my facebook, but I shared that.

Of course, as I sneer at A&F, I must admit I can understand where they're coming from.

I've been known to patronize restaurants because they have cute waiters. I used to overtip them, till it occurred to me that I was discriminating. So now I overtip everyone. [:)]

LafayetteLady -> RE: Fat and/or Ugly? Stay Out of Abercrombie & Fitch (5/14/2013 7:27:41 PM)

You are such a wise man, dc. Of course, knowing how to treat your servers well makes a great impression on your date as well.

Missokyst -> RE: Fat and/or Ugly? Stay Out of Abercrombie & Fitch (5/14/2013 7:42:49 PM)

A guy is doing this in Vegas too, or at least he presented the idea when the AF fiasco began.

LadyPact -> RE: Fat and/or Ugly? Stay Out of Abercrombie & Fitch (5/15/2013 10:29:45 AM)

I just hope it's stuff they already had in the closet. Making purchases just to do it still makes the retailer profit.

LafayetteLady -> RE: Fat and/or Ugly? Stay Out of Abercrombie & Fitch (5/15/2013 11:57:45 AM)

He is suggesting scouring thrift stores for the merchandise.

MalcolmNathaniel -> RE: Fat and/or Ugly? Stay Out of Abercrombie & Fitch (5/15/2013 12:53:27 PM)

~FR~

What is an Abercrombie? What is a Fitch?

I've spent my life vacillating between the woods, the farm, factories and 5-star restaurants. I have yet to meet either an Abercrombie or a Fitch.

TieMeInKnottss -> RE: Fat and/or Ugly? Stay Out of Abercrombie & Fitch (5/15/2013 1:41:22 PM)

Heck..I am considering getting some of their stuff from the thrift store...sewing a couple pieces together & giving it to an overweight homeless person! That would totally irk their CEO!

Missokyst -> RE: Fat and/or Ugly? Stay Out of Abercrombie & Fitch (5/15/2013 3:01:10 PM)

LMAO.... You almost made me spit out my teeth
