The excuses given for Mr. Obama are that he did not know because he is too high up or he did not know because he is too busy with golf and vacations. So. . . the defense is he is either incompetent or slothful. Great. I feel reassured that the country is in the best of hands.

Yeah, there is that, Aylee.

I don't think this mess came on specific orders from the top, but I think it did come in a cultivated atmosphere of partisanship. The questions we need to have answered with the IRS scandal aren't so much about, who ordered it.

This investigation needs to be about who all decided not to much give a shit that it was going on.

The cons were bashing Carter for getting involved in managing the WH tennis court schedule........

But today, the cons imagine the President is micro managing Cincinnati`s lowest payed IRS staffers.....

Ya know Rich, from now one, anyone that is audited can claim harassment due to their political views. Somewhere I read a comparison of this to Lance Armstrong. It comes down to they both cheated to win.

Really? You think the President of the US has the luxury of being able to know and control everything every Federal employee does?

I think some people, for all the talk about "big government", don't understand how big the federal government actually is. The idea that the President is responsible for - and aware of the actions of - all 2.7 million federal employees is pretty laughable.

The usual nutsuckers are in the minneapolis airport bathroom on this one, as usual.

Thanks for such a productive, well thought out, and helpful reply, Ron...

Ah, you're welcome, I gave it every consideration it was worth.  It turned out to be Miller time.

Well, Ron, it appears to be no, not so much. 3/4 of the population at large, and 2/3 of Democrats, are telling the pollsters they want a special prosecutor on this.

But hey, way to carry the Dem's water, until the mainstream curve caught up to the topic.

Voters want special prosecutor for IRS case

Where did that go?

So the American People in your mind are right about background check but wrong about a special prosecutor for this IRS scandal?

Pray tell what does one have to do with the other?

In a news release, the Ways and Means Committee Democrats said they have verified that some of the 298 organizations examined by the inspector general were liberal organizations. Michigan Rep. Sandy Levin, the top Democrat on the panel, said he would ask the IG why that information was omitted from his initial report and ask for a new hearing on the issue.

The poor heretic will have to find another way to sink Obama.

Oh wait.. this makes sense now...

IG: Audit of IRS actions limited to Tea Party groups at GOP request

http://thehill.com/blogs/on-the-money/domestic-taxes/307813-irs-ig-says-audit-limited-to-tea-party-groups#ixzz2XLrXlhNG

A spokesman for Russell George, Treasury’s inspector general for tax administration, said they were asked by House Oversight Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) “to narrowly focus on Tea Party organizations.”

The inspector general’s audit found that groups seeking tax-exempt status with “Tea Party” and “patriots” in their name did receive extra attention from the IRS, with some facing years of delay and inappropriate questions from the agency.
But top congressional Democrats have wielded new information from the IRS this week that liberal groups were also flagged for extra attention on the sorts of “be on the lookout” lists (BOLOs) that also tripped up conservative groups.

The spokesman for the Treasury inspector general noted their audit acknowledged there were other watch lists. But the spokesman added: "We did not review the use, disposition, purpose or content of the other BOLOs. That was outside the scope of our audit.”

The OP cannot wrap his head around the fact that the IRS scandal was all in Issa's mind. There is no there there. No beef in the pattie. Just another birther style waffle.

What I see is a cat and mouse game between the two parties... with the GOP not realizing the moment they need to stop shaking their tail. They havent learned yet that perception is so much better in the voters minds than reality... because they keep trying to prove something dastardly is going on instead of just letting people think it is. And every time, the GOP ends up proven wrong.
