ORIGINAL: DaddySatyr I've been a bit of an anglophile for quite some time, now. I enjoy a few of the Tele shows (Black Adder, Fawlty Towers, and of course, the lads come to mind). I think most British classic rockers had more of a connection to our own native music than some of us did (Listen to Eric Clapton play the blues). Some years back (Geez! It's been almost 10), I almost married a Brummie bint that lived in Wales. I will say that in real life and on these boards, I notice quite a bit of hostility coming from that side of the pond, directed at us. I have heard July 4th referred to as: "Good Riddence to Bad Rubbish Day" more than once, for example. However, I don't think we're friendlier. I just think we're a bit more tolerant. Peace and comfort, Michael Almost every top band in the 60s was influenced by it, with bands like The Who and The Small Faces explicitly filling the gap between US and UK Blues. Both the Mods and early Skinheads were into both blues and soul, I grew up in and around Brixton and spent most saturday mornings at a black guys music store, he used to import Blues and Jamacian Ska records. On to friendliness..... I loved each and every visit to the States, all of them to the South, people were very friendly for the most part. Women asked me to talk as they thought I sounded like Prince Charles, while I sound more like Bob Hoskins. Loved the sun, hated the mosquitos and the fire ants.
