Perhaps we should take this to another thread in "Off Topic". If you build it, I will come.

Hi Rasciallymisty! You may be right, I put it on 'Ask A Mistress' as it started off as a general question that Mistresses, or anyone else could contribute to. It's kind of meandered from the point, but, none the worse for that.
I remember putting a music posting in the Arts section, & someone suggested putting it elsewhere as no one really read that section .
The good thing about asking a question like this, is that it can lead anywhere.

I appreciate your assertion that we & the Americans are equally friendly, you're always the peace maker .

Take care, Gary.

I worked for a British company a few years ago. When I finally escaped I never wanted to hear a British accent ever again.

I've since gotten over that.

I just think we're a bit more tolerant.

The British are upset because they lost the war but Americans are definitely NOT tolerant when compared to the British. Our country is still riddled with 'freedom for all unless they're queer'.

There is a descent amount of British people here where I live in St.Pete,FL.Since this area has the Beaches and warm weather, this area gets people from all over. The Brits I have met here seem very nice. Some come to visit and some come to stay. The local librarian is from England.I like the accent. Americans don't have an accent(except for Southerns with the "twang".

Maybe this is just me but America seems to love guns and violence.Just watch a prime time show. While from what I understand, guns aren't really allowed in England, except for the Military. From the Brits I've been around, they appear to be more "civil" than us Yanks.

Yea,I am sure there is still some resentment from some Brits who can't get over the fact that England lost the war. Just like people here in America still hold resentments from our civil war and that was over 150 years ago. The past is history, move on.

The term Yankee is either used by Brits to refer to Americans or Southerns(USA) refers to people like me,from the Northern part of the USA as Yankees. Either way,I am a Proud Yankee.

Americans love their guns because it's their constitutional right to have them. Brits gave up their civil liberties so that they could maintain an appearance of being civil. There are still plenty of Brits who stab each other to death just like there are plenty of Americans who gun each other down in the streets over turf wars. Neither is good, right, or just. It just is. Take away the guns and knives and you'll have another creative way to murder each other by Monday.

This was completely off topic but this whole thread was off topic anyway!

Very true. I heard about that British officer who got stabbed to death in England just recently.Plus that other stabbing that happened in France recently. America is certainly no Disney World with our violent culture. All the mass shootings just in the past couple of years. But that's a debate for another topic. Its just sad, period. Any human life lost to criminals like that anywhere,is sad for humanity, period.

I love British accents. Very sexy!

I'm not sure who would be friendlier but down here (the south) I've been told our hospitality is awesome!

To those who think we care about losing the war....... we dont.

TN.... I loved the south, as I previously stated. The first time i was over some friends of the people I stayed with said I could come and stay whenever I wanted and for how long I wanted. No mention of cost or anything, I was touched at this level of hospitality from complete strangers.
