She wasn't interested, end of story. move on to the next. And honesty is always the best policy, but as already mentioned, no need to overhelm someone with your lifestory in an intro mail.... it usualy takes a conversation to work out if there is anything worth building on... all the relevant stuff can come out in that, it gives you something to say!

a new Mistress in my area just joined

Here is the problem... she just joined & michael you have been reading from the boards long enough to have read from other women about the tidal wave of mail new women receive. The new accounts are targets of the site sharks & to her, you were just another taking a chomp out of her. Not only are any other locals in your area contacting her but every dick-in-hand man with computer access in every 3rd world nation is writing her as well.

Or then again, she may not have had any interest... only one way to find out, write her again & mention the fact that you realize she is getting tons of mail & welcome her to the site & ask for permission to write again if she would like.

Try not to pounce on new members in the future or at least change your approach by recognizing they are in the midst of a feeding frenzy & you are tossing them a lifeline of a friendly welcome with no commitment beyond a honest welcome. If she has an interest beyond the friendly hello you can offer her your Honest Bio, believe me a dominant woman will not be shy about asking you personal details but she will prefer to do this on her own accord.

Wow i am surprised in many of the answers i have seen.  I am married and my favorite Dom is married.  Yes it takes extra work to set up times but then we have our time and go home to our other lives which works wonderfully for us.  My husband knows and is not my business if His wife does or not.  As for honesty i don't just toss everything out just enough to get their attention if they are interested then i am approached if not neither of us has lost time.

I'm sorry if I was over-generalizing. I certianly know many happy poly families, and many open relationships. I've been in one myself.

However, I was talking about the fact that there is a huge number of married sub males seeking, and a limited number of dommes interested in married men.

As I said to Michael, I don't think it's impossible...just very difficult.

Honesty is crucial.

However, there's a difference in saying to someone "Damn, you look UGLY in that dress" and saying "Hey you know, I think that blue dress looks much nicer on you".

The bottom line is that when approaching someone you'd like to think of as a potential and you are a "problem child" as it were, you better make sure that you put in enough info to make yourself look good despite the strikes against you - make a case why you might be a good asset despite the fact that there's a lot going against you.

I would think that was obvious.

well, all the information i provided are on my profile (i think) and i just don't feel right about hiding things...should i have drawn it out more?

One of the things to consider is if you added any *more* than info on your profile... what attracted you to her for example, what you can offer her... Often I get messages that are simply cut and pasted from the profile. (Not that you necesssarily did that, michael.) That shows no personalization and no imagination, the worst of both worlds to me.
