He knows he is a traitor. That's why he has gone to ground.

You know this? How? Clairvoyance? You psychic Vince?

There is nothing in the Constitution that prohibits the President and his agencies to engage in espionage for the national defense.

Against the American people? Really? [8|]

I made no claim to "knowing." I referred to the fugitive. He knew he committed a traitorous act. His actions, his flight speaks volumes for his guilt.

And yes against Americans with proper due process and warrants. Nothing new there. Has the 4th Amendment been violated? How so?

I also wonder what, if any, role intention should play in all this. It sounds as if he sincerely believed he was doing the right thing.

"The road to hell is paved with good intentions." That is no defense. We are holding people in prison now who tried to or succeeded in killing our people. Have they all been caught? Is the danger past? You cannot identify them (our enemies) but that is the purpose of the program betrayed by the nutter.

Agreed.

But knowing (to the extent we can) Snowden's intentions can, I think, help us determine whether he was truly adhering to our enemies and giving them aid and comfort.

It's a weird day when the lefties, here, agree with The Donald. LOL I never thought I'd live to see it.

You deny then unbelievably fucking do it again.

You are making a statement concerning what HE KNOWS, not what you idiotically think.

The fugitive runs from the Law. You are unbelievably blind to your hero's actions as reported by the Guardian. Hiding in his hotel room, blocking the door bottom with pillows, hiding under his hood BUT laughingly signing into the hotel with his own name. What a douche!

HE DOES NOT DENY HIS GUILT. HE ADMITS WHAT HE DID.

plus violating his security oath.

Lee Harvey Oswald was a true believer in his cause. His intentions were just (in his mind) We can say the same for the Oklahoma City bomber and the Unibomber. They were all nutters to their cause. Their cause does not excuse their actions.

Quite so, oh weak one. But it's you who says he knows he's a traitor, not him. That is what I am beating you up about.

YOU ARE NOT CLAIRVOYANT !

Got it?

Oh gosh. Really? Well, I'll turn in my psychic license then just to make you happy while you try to deflect from the real issues here. Beating me up? What a freakin joke. [sm=rofl.gif]

For some it`s about protecting freedom......

for the children.... it`s about hating Obama and not much deeper....

No, it doesn't, and that's why I said nothing of the sort.

But I do think intention may be a factor in determining whether Snowden's actions meet the constitutional criteria for treason.

It`ll take some time and a trial before it`s official.....

Like after scooter`s felony conviction...we could officially say that the bush admin. had leaked classified intel to our enemies.....

Did he sign one? What does it say?

Honest question: What aid and comfort do you see him giving and to whom?

plus violating his security oath.

I'm sure that's criminal, but I'm less certain that it rises to treason.

tazzygirl -> RE: NSA leaker comes forward (6/10/2013 4:18:39 PM)

Thats what I am thinking too, DC

If the answer is the American People ...

If he was working for NSA I have to presume he did. We shall have to let the lawyers work that out.

tazzygirl -> RE: NSA leaker comes forward (6/10/2013 4:22:07 PM)

I dont usually disagree with you. But I dont see his actions as traitorous. Not by the federal definition.
