Hey you! I thought about you over the years. Some of my posts to you I was not very nice. For that I am sorry.

OP- I am real. I was missing for a few years and now popped in. I recognize about 1/2 of these folks from before- these are not bots- but people I have had conversations with- the good the bad and the ugly. Take a chance and reach out- if anything you might find a friend.

Status: offline 		I think the reason people get so upset about the fake profiles is that the owners/mods/admins of this site allow them to flourish. Over the past couple of weeks there have appeared dozens (100's?) of profiles pushing xxxchat.nl and so far as I can tell none of them have been deleted.
Then there are the normal-looking profiles where a basic introduction gets this crap in reply:

"How are you? Unfortunately, things have been a little slow for me here. So what are you into, what do you want to do together? Id like to at least figure that out first ;) I don't always check my messages attached to this account but you can shoot me a note anytime at ******* on h 0 t.m a i l,Ill get ur message on my cell and can get back to you right away. Give me more details about what you have in mind....or what u'd like to do with an hour alone together! Ciao!"

This one is a bit more insidious whereas the 1st is very easy to deal with.

But again, since ad rates are based on the number of profiles...

I wonder what the current profile count here is and what it would drop down to if the inactive's (not logged-in over the last 6mos) and obvious fakes were purged. Cut in half?

Status: offline 		Just like every other place on the computer, The anonymity allowed by the separation created by the screen allows some people the opportunity to be what "they want to be" NOT who or what they really are. They think because there is a distance between them and whoever they are talking to they can lie or be the asshole they don't have the guts to be in a real one to one relationship. You see the same thing in CB radio. We call it hiding behind the mic. People will almost try to give the best impression of themselves. It's just here is to them a fantasy that they don't have the guts to live out. This is why we need to communicate with any perspective partners. Those that want to play without spending time learning about your wants and needs are usually either very inexperienced or fakes. No communication no play is the best advice I can offer any one in our lifestyle. Continuing communication is necessary for the relationship to grow and improve. Find someone willing to talk to you first. Then if there is a connection start to explore. I have had to rescue too many women who rushed in without knowing their new partner. There are just too manySmalllittle people who think hurting someone else will give them power.

There is no one for me to date. Yes it would be nice- but I am not driving more then 10 minutes for it. I have gotten actively involved in politics in my town- thus far I have only had to cut off 2 people. That is not bad considering I now navigate dozens of others who want the same goals for my community- and that my friend is a nice reward.

Who knows maybe from this group of people something will pan out- it is face to face and we have commen interests- I have no idea who wants what in bed and I dont care- thats not what I am there for.

No one is going to rescue you- you have to rescue and love yourself.

I think there's a distinction to be made between the site allowing fake profiles to flourish and simply not adopting a more active stance against them for whatever reasons there are. All that has been debated ad nauseum, in the end the site does what it does for the reasons that they do it.
What does it matter?

Who cares what the current profile count would be if there were a purge?

Whatever the hurdles are that are in place, what does it honestly matter that they are there? People can come here or leave.

Someone said in another thread that school's letting out and the fake profiles shoot up. And this phenomenon isn't unique to adult-oriented sites, either. Many moons ago, I modded on a firearms-related forum, and the same thing would happen. Usually it was teen boys trying to get someone to sell them something they weren't allowed to have.

What, exactly, would that distinction be? Ignoring the issue (problem) allows it to continue unabated, ie: flourish.

Who would care about a lower count? The advertisers.

Not really. The site is staffed by volunteers, which is a thankless job, and they're seriously understaffed.

As quickly as they remove one, another pops up.

Plus you're looking at one section of what CM is and focusing on that. Take a look at the Video Chat Rooms or the P&R forums, if you want a small idea of how busy the volunteers are.
