We got tired of paying a huge amount so my 8 year old daughter could watch kid shows so we knocked our tv package way down and got netflix streaming instead. There are tons of shows for her and my husband is all set since he loves all the sci fi shows on there but I just kind of go eh. Not many of my shows are on there that I can see. I watch things like criminal minds.

So do you have netflix? What shows do you like watching on there?

My daughter Lizard has netflix and she recently gave me her account information so I can monitor what she is watching (she is into science fiction and action like me). I have been catching up on Doctor Who.

I think we end up watching more Netflix than we do regular tv programming.

Although, I did buy a Rabbit TV thingie at Walgreens for $9.99. Works really good and I like to use it when I just want to catch up on shows using my laptop.
I have On Demand, but not all of the networks or their programs show up on it.

If you like shows like Criminal Minds, you would probably like Wire in the Blood and you might like Luther.
If you haven't seen Cracker, you would probably enjoy that as well.

I like MidSomer Murders and htere are many seasons of that.

Gillian Anderson can be seen on Netflix in The Fall (TV series) where she plays Stella Gibson, a senior police officer investigating a string of murders in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Until this, I could not stand her, her looks or her acting.

In this she's gorgeous and plays a wonderful role to perfection. Now, I adore her and the show. Watched it tip to tail in about two nights. Got little sleep, but it was sure worth it.

We like the streaming movies. I like horror movies, suspense, kids movies, all kinds of things.

I know I watch more Netflix than regular TV. I do pay for the 2 DVD at a time option as well as streaming video. That lets me watch a DVD on my laptop while I'm at dialysis.

Shows I watch on Netflix
Sherlock (the new BBC version)
Doctor Who
Law & Order SVU (they have something like 12 seasons of this available)
Warehouse 13
BattleStar Galactica (the newer one)
Star Trek (they have every series of this available)
Firefly
bunches of semi obscure shows that only ran a season or two including a bunch of really good BBC ones.

Thanks! I will look into them. I have seen they have SVU but I have seen them so many times, I was hoping they had The Closer but I haven't seen it.

We've had Netflix for many years.

We watch many of the same things everyone else watches, but we're a few months behind. Right now we're catching up on Two Broke Chicks.

Very funny.

The night before we watched a Brit cop series called George Gently.

We've actually watched ALL the Midsomer Murders. We liked Wire in the Blood and Luther, as well.

If you like the Brit detective shows, try Inspector Lynley.

The wife has had an account for a while, but I wasn't using it at all until she gave me a nifty little box for Christmas that combines a Blueray player, Netflix, and a direct link to Youtube (plus other stuff I haven't played with yet).

It seems that when I turn it on, hoping to find a specific show or movie, they never have it, but if I surf through the options with an open mind, I can always find something of interest. Our small town internet connection isn't always up to the task though, especially when one of us wants to watch a movie, while the other is gaming on xbox live.

We've had it off and on in the past. Right now I have it.

We watch so many movies, it gets pricey. It's a good place for some strange but interesting movies we've never before heard of.
I think my kids use it more than we do, though. There's a lot for kids and they seem to enjoy watching it over tv.

If you enjoy watching tv shows then Netflix streaming is nice. Their streaming movie selection sucks.

We have unlimited usage for about 30 bucks a month. That's a dollar a day, not that pricey to me.

I only pay something like 8 bucks for netflix? Now I have to go look at its membership options and figure out what I'm missing out on.

ChatteParfaitt -> RE: Do you have netflix? (6/12/2013 7:27:06 AM)

We get to have 4 DVDs out at any one time, and then all the streaming we want.

Pricey to rent movies through cable and other providers, at about $6 a movie.
We get Netflix to save money - I wasn't saying Netflix is pricey.

I subscribed to see House of Cards, but my account has been pretty dormant since that. One little tidbit I will throw into the mix were the crazy ass connection problems we had.

We bought a Sony Blue Ray player to stream shows. The picture continually fuzzed out. We had problems for about a month. I then swapped out the HDMI cable for a new one and we have not had a problem since.

So, if you are experiencing connection problems, it might be the cable.

Ohhh, ok. I opted out of the DVD's by mail. It was getting expensive having to pay for the ones I kept forgetting to mail back and losing.

I watched 3 of the 5 episodes of The Fall last night. I have always loved Gillian Anderson and thought her beautiful, but I admit she has matured nicely :)

TY just added it to my instant Q.
