Blood pressure has been thru the roof- I been spitting nails past 2 days. I do NOT want to go to a DR or ER.

What can I do around this house?

The only thing I know of is aspirin. Hopefully someone else will have better information.

I really wish you would go. There are many home remedies. How well they work or harm all depends on why your blood pressure is high to begin with. Dont mess with this. Go see your Doctor.

High blood pressure can kill you. If it is out of control you absolutely must seek medical attention.

pahunk... high blood pressure can cause more damage than just your heart. It can kill your kidneys.

I know you don't want to go, but I'd urge you to not screw around with trying to fix this at home and go see a doctor. You are putting yourself at incredible risk of damage to your heart, blood vessels, and kidneys. This seriously is not something to mess around with. Please, even though you don't want to, go get checked out. Uncontrolled high blood pressure was a contributing factor of the massive heart attack that took my father's life 8 years ago.

Or give you a stroke or cause fluid to build up in your lungs.

It is better today-- I dont have a gadget to measure it.

So far today has been going ok. I think I need family time- a trip to Chicago.

While there are a lot of things you can do to keep your heart healthy, like it or not, the only thing you should do if you believe you may be in immediate danger of an heart attack is to seek medical attention.

Believe me, I know what I am talking about. Right now my doctors are searching fo the reason my bloodpressure is high, and for the even worse spikes I have been having. Those are a reason to call an ambulance, as they are life threatening.

Please get over your aversion and go see a medical professional.

If you're on BP meds, you should get a "gadget" and self monitor, especially if you're reluctant to see the doc.

Blood pressure meds can "wear off", becoming less effective over time.
... But, if, as you say, you don't have a means of measuring it, how do you know it's high? The symptoms may be from another cause...

Your safest course is to call your doctor's office right away

Popping ant acids like crazy. I can FEEL when it is high. However- I think I will take your advise and get a gadget. Mom had one- I was shocked that my BP went up when my uncle came over.

Most of the time- this is all manageable. Only the past few days has it been a problem-

Are you actually having any symptoms that might possibly indicate a heart attack?

http://www.webmd.com/heart-disease/features/his-guide-to-a-heart-attack

If so, then you absolutely must seek medical attention.
You can not fix that at home.
Even if the symptoms ease off, it does not mean you did not have a heart attack.
The only way to be sure is to get it checked out.

Having said that: worrying about having a heart attack is not likely going to help your blood pressure.

IF your main issue is your blood pressure, then be aware, that if that is sky high you run a risk of having not just a heart attack, but a stroke.

So, the wise thing to do would be to call the Dr who is treating your hypertension and tell him/her what your numbers are and ask for their guidance.
And if you have heart attack symptoms, call 911.

Meanwhile, hunky, you need to disengage yourself, before you get to the "spitting nails" level.

Find something relaxing to do away from the computer and media.
Like petting your cat.
