Aside from Roch's thread, it really is pointless trying to have a reasoned discussion about the place of prodommes and the fetish of findomme. So I'll take my fetish elsewhere. Congratulations. You've finally won your little victory over one pro/findomme. Enjoy it, I'll save the energy I use on trying to contribute to this forum. Ciao.

Simply Hide the posts of the offending nicks. I have over ninety nicks on Hide.

I have a feeling that you will be a valued contributor to the forums.

Look-let me be clear. I'm not attacking you. I don't dislike you. Nor do I really care that much about the whole Fin-Domme thing* - I'm pretty OK with that. Matter of fact some of my favorite people on this site happen to do some Finning on the side and I'm cool with that

I was just pointing out an irony, that's all.

I mean basically, it's a business operation complaining because they can't use certain buzzwords to generate income for free. That's kinda juicy.

And if it's not a big deal, then why complain? Just put up a straight profile with no mention and crossover and you'll be fine.
No biggee
That's all.

And you may note that I approached it from a business perspective. Nothing personal. Not one whit.

So don't take it as anything other than what it was.

*After going back and forth for some time, I've come to some personal conclusions:
1-Fin-domming is gonna happen whatever I or anyone else thinks-there's a need (Cuz really what other chance do most middle aged men have of getting their fantasies met), someone is willing to meet the need for a price-sounds like free market capitalism to me. and if we've learned nothing else from the war on drugs, it's that when there's a will, there will be a way...and someone to provide the product.
2-Which means they need a place to market said product. Hello, internet...
3-It ain't my business how anyone else spends their money. They're all grown ups. I mean hey, I don't complain about liquor stores even though they provide a product often harmful to their customers long term well being. I have no moral or ethical beefs with the purveyors as long as they follow the requisite laws and regulations. And I don't judge em when they sell a pint of cheap vodka to a rummy who's just sold his blood for the money for that drink. It's his choice. The decision is on him. Matter of fact, if they chose not to sell to him, he'd be furiously pissed.
So if some idiot wants to spend money on finning, that's fine with me. I recognize his right to. It's a free country, brother, and that cuts all ways.

Now, that said, while most of people support liquor stores, the vast majority of us don't want them in their backyard. They bring all sorts of crime and bad shit. Statistics have born that out again and again.
Similarly, RS has repeatedly laid out a pretty strong case from a business perspective why finning and the fakes that are pulled in with it (Because I think that most of us divide the class into two categories-real people (IOW those we know. Ain't it ironic how they are always the exceptions to our own internal prejudices?) who provide and meet a need that exists within the fetish community who we see as all right on the one hand and flat out lying faking scammers who give the whole deal a bad name on the other. You folk need a union. Like no-shit. Write some standards up and then get busy enforcing. Who better to lay down the law? Restore the fine name to an ancient and dignified profession. But, I digress) damage collarme type businesses in the long run. I tend to agree with his basic thesis and I've watched other sites go under in the past to to incursions of fakes drawn by the thought of easy money like sharks coming to chum.

Frankly, I wish CM would just add another category in addition to slave, switch, sub-call it Pro. It's the best solution. That would make things much freaking easier and end the debate right there. Gals who wanna mention tributes et al can do so to their hearts delight in that section, but any mention at all ain't allowed in the regular section (And really CM should charge cash. As should any business that is being used to facilitate income for another external entity. That's just smart business and good common sense. In business, the jargon for companies that do this is free-riders, cuz they're riding for free on someone else's dime and supported by everyone else's expense).
And gals who want to make some cash on the one hand and then just chill (The basic "I'm only here for the forums" profile we've all seen 100% times) can make a profile on both and compartmentalize.
I'm totally down with something like that.

Of course, I strongly suspect that, due to Puritanical and somewhat draconian laws regarding sex and sex workers in this country, there are all sorts of legal reasons this can't happen.

Which kinda sucks, and leads us back to where we are, the status quo, these endless threads and all sorts of drama and mudslinging (which, come to think of it would actually be brilliant Jerry Springer move on the part of CM management in that the findomme discussions generate consistent controversy, thus keeping users hitting-hmmmmmmmm-conspiracy theorists are you listening?) and if there's one thing I'm pretty sure of, after nearly a decade watching the same argument go round and round like some conversational Mobius Strip, it's that nothings changing. It ain't gonna change. That's the way that's gonna be.
And ya know what? It ain't my site. I don't pay the bills so WTF am I to tell the powers that be how to run their shop. They've done OK for themselves. Something like the #116 site in the US.
Own a fortune 500 business and everyone knows your name, signs your praises.
These cats, their doing something right.
So I don't really care that much either way. They gonna do what they gonna do and nothing said here is gonna change that. We can talk till we're blue in the face and that's just the way it is.

Kana sez; So if it's no skin off your back, why complain?

Well some people cant take any sort of criticism no matter what context and others just aren't happy unless they are whining.
