I say this to all the subs who submit questions like this to the forums: DISCUSS IT WITH YOUR DOMINANT, not with STRANGERS. You should have an open enough communication channel with your D by the time you decide to submit that you feel you can ask questions like this and he should be setting up some sort of rules for you to follow. Doing things the way OTHERS prefer is not necessarily the way your DOMINANT wants you to do things. How do we know he isn't batshit crazy and ENJOYS you pestering him frequently? Maybe that's his fetish.
For Mine, I usually set up a daily or weekly "REPORT IN" arrangement, depending on their vanilla activities. Obviously family/job takes priority, we all have that to deal with. Contact frequency depends on what Tasks I have them working on so I can monitor progress...if they are diabetic and trying to improve their BG levels, then I want daily check-ins so I can get their results. Weight loss, usually 3 or 4 times a week. G.E.D. depends on if they are struggling with something and need tutoring. I usually keep the computer on and most of Mine still check in almost daily to at least say "Hi Mistress" and then again at night to say "Goodnight". I'm on a big "BRUSH YOUR FUCKING TEETH" thing right now due to My discovering a couple of them have tooth issues, so I remind them nightly as well as frequently during the day, Drop everything and go brush them---NOW!!!
But like I said, that's O/our arrangement. You and yours need to make your own.
