ORIGINAL: jlf1961 But happy solstice to everyone, and for lady pact, having never been in Alaska, I can not even imagine what it would be like to not see the sun set. Speaking as somebody who wasn't born and raised here, it is kind of weird to Me, still. We also have what is often called the 'high noon moon' in the other half of the calendar. What really sticks out to Me is how hard it can be to gauge what time it is during both summer and winter. I've been on this kick lately about being up late. It just doesn't seem late because the sun is still out. I bet. Of course here lately my internal clock has been out of whack. Part of it, I am sure, is my dealing with baggage I have tried to lock away in my mind for years. The other part is the dogs have figured out how to get extended play time outside and avoid the hot part of the day... Their procedure is simple, wake daddy up at 5 AM. Of course with a 6 month old pup in the house, I bought a new alarm clock that has four alarm time settings, this way I get up during the night to take him out.
