Okay, okay, this is about beaten to death, and my opinion is mine and mine alone. I totally agree with Mentor Warren, look around the grocery store, what you see thre, you will see here, but I know how many go to stores very late at night to avoid being 'looked at'. Perhaps it is simply a matter of self acceptance. Depending on who's doing the judging, I am also overweight. I find it a very natural state for me. It is not easy coming to terms with oneself. Ask any sub who has hidden in closets wishing they were chained there. When I begin feeling uncomfortable, then I check and drop that extra 5-10 lbs again. I have my own comfort zone and will stay there contentedly. Too many times we attempt to change who we are to become more acceptable in the eyes of society. We fight to conform to general opinions disregarding what is correct for us to be part of the crowd. To post on-line, or go to a munch takes a great deal of courage. (*sigh* less to post, you can hide). Having accepted such a forbidden part of ourselves, this, the BDSM, in whatever combination we chose, most especially in a political climate which seems to lean towards conservatism more and more often, is it not possible that it is quite simply the same acceptance of who we are on the outside as well as who we are on the inside? Just my 3 cents (inflation you know), and my opinion, remembering that opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one, and quite often they stink.
