Tazzy I do not know how the jury selection went to select only women... I did not know all were white... but all that aside... should not the case be decided on facts and not emotion? Why should it make any difference that these particular white women may not have a black man or woman's experience or the black perspective? Facts are facts evidence is evidence that is all that should count.

This happened in a gated community and these women are members of the area...just as a jury is supposed to be... should that not be enough? Are we still at the point where whites cannot judge blacks fairly? I hope the hell not.

The team picture they showed that got everyone talking about the scary football player got me thinking as I used to coach wrestling and football down there. There was and still is no HS team that matched his jersey. There is, however a Pop Warner team down there in his neighborhood that did.

So basically some of the folks were talking about this big mean-assed football player when he was really playing pop warner because he was too fucking scrawny for HS ball.

The long and short of it is poor, "innocent" Martin bit off a little bit more than he could chew this time.

There has to be a reasonable and credible threat. "I suspect" does not necessarily meet that standard.

Whoa dude. Let's not turn this into a left/right thing.

In fact, really, as I've pointed out, it really shouldn't even be a race case.
This is a case about a night where lots and lots of bad decisions were made by people on both sides, any of which could probably have averted the incident had an alternative path been chosen-instead one party ended up dead and anothers life is shattered.
There are no happy endings here for anyone.

Frankly, in my mind, the great shame of this, and so much else, is that so many external entities have focused, nay lavished, attention on this case, twisting things on both sides, in order to advance personal agendas.
That kinda sickens me. Not just about this, but in lots of recent situations.
It's not only tawdry, it's kinda unseemly.

ETA-Point of fact, I deliberately broadened my prior comments so as to EXCLUDE any singular point of social conflict and instead made it INCLUSIVE of all humans.
