goodgirlmary -> did most slaves start off as submissives? (6/30/2013 12:55:55 PM)

I was just curious .If you are a slave did you start off as a submissive?

tazzygirl -> RE: did most slaves start off as submissives? (6/30/2013 12:57:43 PM)

lol... HELL no. I started out as a brat... a massive brat. Some can still see it peeking from beneath my.... ok... it just peeks out.

It wasnt till about 10 years ago that I realized the depth of my submission. And it scared me. I fought it for a while, then finally gave in.

I started out as a slave. I now call myself a submissive. I was young, we both lacked experience and we learned and revised our ideas of the perfect relationship together.

In my case, in the beginning I was sensation curious.
I guess you could classify me as a bottom who would sometimes get in a submissive head-space.
I never saw it that way.

And now I am [my] Master's slave.
I am not a slave.
I am His slave.

It is very specific to Him, and for me the specificity of that is what makes it special.

Truthfully I believe that it's a skill that's necessary to have any sort of lasting relationship, D/s or not. I don't believe there's such a thing as a perfect person or a perfect match. We all have flaws, bad habits, quirks and expectations. The ability and willingness to see yourselves as a team is essential; we can work together to build shared happiness or we can try to force each other to fit our own individual visions and ultimately both lose.

Edit to fix quote

Your keeper is on here right? I seem to think so, but maybe Im wrong.Do you call him a keeper, or is he a dom/domme?

I definitely was a submissive for many years in this Great other life, that I live. Been into D/s for almost 50 years. BUT within this past 6 months, decided to call myself what i really wish to be.......a slave. A MASTER found me and now i do as HE ORDERS without reservation. Giving FULL and COMPLETE Control to another person is so exciting and after experiencing HIS 100% CONTROL of this side of my life......my only regret is that it took me this long to FULLY submit !

FR

For me, when I joined I self-identified as a submissive. I still think of myself that way to a certain extent, but Master thinks of me as his slave (and I will call him Master occasionally, though usually it is honey [;)]). Calling me "slave" is a term of endearment from him. From anyone else it is just obnoxious. I'm a slave to one man only, so like anjelika put it, I am HIS slave, not A slave. My slavery is entirely dependent upon our relationship.

Missokyst -> RE: did most slaves start off as submissives? (6/30/2013 3:03:55 PM)

hell no. I started as a slave and as soon as the hold was broken I decided that was not for me.

Kana -> RE: did most slaves start off as submissives? (6/30/2013 3:48:59 PM)

She swore she'd never be a slave.2 years later she begged for the privilege. As she'd been functioning as one for over 12 months by then, she wanted the official moniker to match the actions.

This has happened more than once with me, as in, more often than not. We reach a point of trust and emotive connectivity that she can't imagine serving any way less than all the way.

TieMeInKnottss -> RE: did most slaves start off as submissives? (6/30/2013 4:13:08 PM)

When I began, it was suggested that I was a switch..except I never could tell anyone what to do so that did not last beyond a single conversation, then I was a sub but the first Dom I was with told me I was a slave...the second Dom I was with told me I was a slave (mindset is what I mean). I recently change my designation to slave because I have come to terms with it. I LIKE being told what to do, I LIKE being the follower, by nature, I put others needs before my own & will bend over backwards to do what is asked of me....

kalikshama -> RE: did most slaves start off as submissives? (7/1/2013 1:45:14 PM)

I started off as a bottom. In my next BDSM relationship was a slave for about a year and decided it wasn't for me. Now I identify as submissive.

Charles6682 -> RE: did most slaves start off as submissives? (7/1/2013 1:48:27 PM)

I personally do feel more comfortable considering myself as a "submissive". That's just me and that's work's great for me.

violettefemme -> RE: did most slaves start off as submissives? (7/1/2013 2:34:19 PM)

I began as a bottom, got into a D/s relationship that eventually progressed to M/s and lasted for 4 years. I am no longer in that relationship and, after exploring more, consider myself a switch with a lean towards submissive.

OsideGirl -> RE: did most slaves start off as submissives? (7/1/2013 2:35:46 PM)

Personally, I have moral issues with calling myself a slave, so I won't ever use that title.

I am the submissive half of a TPE D/s relationship.

goodgirlmary -> RE: did most slaves start off as submissives? (7/1/2013 3:06:04 PM)

What is a tpe d/s relationship? Also what is a bottom?

OsideGirl -> RE: did most slaves start off as submissives? (7/1/2013 3:12:26 PM)

TPE - total power exchange

D/s - Dominance and submission

Top/bottom - refers to people that assume a role for a set period of time or specific event, without Dominance or submission outside of those parameters.

ie: the masochist in a BDSM session that does not engage in submission outside of that play session would be a bottom.
