I can answer for the way that I use the term 'bottom'. A bottom is someone who is on the receiving end of a scene for a negotiated period of time.

I've always been a slave to the man I am in a relationship with. It's just my nature. I'm a submissive personality plus I'm extremely Judeo-Christian when it comes to relationships.

I started out as a masochistic sub. About a year and a half into the relationship he told me I was a slave. I was quite offended for some reason (still can't really figure out why). We talked through his and my definition of slave, and mostly agreed. Then we talked about how I fit into those criteria, and it was like Cinderella with her glass slipper [:D]

If for some reason Master and I should split, I don't know if I could be slave to any other Master. Submissive I can do, but slave totally depends on the man involved.

I actually started off as a Dom. I have a naturally strong personality, and I'm usually in charge in most vanilla situations. So when I first started out, it seemed natural to be a Dom. But as I got more experience, I realized that a dominant vanilla persona didn't necessarily mean that I had to be dominant in my relationships.

But to this day, people still assume that I'm a Dom when they meet me, and are surprised to learn that I am a sub/slave.

I am submissive in certain interactions. However, I did not start out as his submissive. I started as his slave and over eight years later I am still his slave.

i did start as just a submissive and as i continued on my journey i learned what being a slave is and that i was meant to be one it took many months in my first dynamic to realize this
