Missdressed -> I go on Saturday to get my date for my surgery (7/1/2013 10:43:05 AM)

And quite frankly I'm crapping myself. Firstly, it's the Gay Pride Parade in Belfast. I have no issue with Gay Pride whatsoever, except that they have a ton of floats and it's a big party RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF BELFAST AND I HAVE TO DRIVE THROUGH IT. Well, I can drive around it, but it's giving me extra stress I don't need. Sorry guys and gals xx I need a big op on my shoulder. I've been putting it off for two years, well sort of. This is the good old NHS and they took so long to see me the govt transferred me out to the private sector because it was taking an age. Then it took ages for all the investigations and MRIs and X-Rays and shit. Then the consultant who was seeing me got the sack, so I had to go back and see a different person. Upshot, I get my date on Saturday for my op. Should be within 2-3 weeks I need repair to my rotator cuffs, decompression of my shoulder nerve (or something I think that's what she said), removal of calcific deposits in the tendons and decompression of my neck. I won't be able to drive for weeks. And I am a single parent and live alone, although No1 son has promised to be chauffeur and cook so I won't starve. Well, I hope not [:D] and no2 son says he'll kick the girls up the butt to get them to help plenty. Has anyone on here had this kind of surgery? I'm in a horrific amount of pain, normal plus nerve pain. I take painkillers like candy (smarties, for the Brits lol) and they don't help. The doc suggested morphine patches, but I don't want to go there.
