In the context of my remarks above, I meant reason in the sense of cause, causation, like, "why are we created in such a way that we perceive that there are subtle truths beyond our physical senses, yet do not perceive the same truths, have different interpretations of, do not perceive, etc - what is the cause/reason?" (Of course, even our sensory-based perceptions are not uniform, just more so than our subtle perception.)
And my question was intended, not to ask, what is the mechanism that causes one person to have a different sense of the truth than another, but a more universal question - why are we built this way? But as I say, that's another conversation.
Although, as I think you may be saying that the reason different people see things differently is due to emotion, I would tend to disagree that an individual's personal POV and filters are purely based upon emotion. I think that experience has a large role in shaping that and in shaping their emotional dispositions.
(Adding) So, a person may say, I believe something to be true because in my observation of events, it's true, which could include scientific evaluation of what's true, and would be considered about as objective as we're capable. Or, a person may have an emotional reaction that shapes their belief, such as a predominantly optimistic or pessimistic interpretation of reality.
