Moonlightmaddnes -> What not to say at the sheriffs department (7/7/2013 8:41:11 PM)

My oldest son's best friend is an idiot. He usually makes my husband and myself laugh and we claim him as one of our own kids, but really he is an idiot. He walked in there to give a friend a ride. The deputy asked him if he had any knives or sharps. He said no then pretended to reach into his wasteband and said, "I just have this gun here. " He said they all reached for their own guns and did not laugh at all. When he told them he was just joking they still did not find it funny. Only after he was at our house telling us and we were staring at him in shock that he would do something that stupid did he stop and say, "I guess that wasn't as funny as I thought it would be." God, yeah. Geeez they could have shot him cause he is and idiotic smart ass.

Sounds like a SAM to me.... lol

Kids. They don't think. It's amazing any of them live to become adults.

We live in a college town and none of them should be allowed to cross the street by themselves. Talking on cell phones, headphones in ears, totally oblivious they just walk off the curb from behind a parked car. It's a good thing there's a lot of traffic because if you could get up any speed, there would be a fatal accident daily.

Oh I know. I shake my head at my oldest constantly. I am sure I was never like that. Surely not.

yup...teenagers. Open mouth, insert foot.

I was on a plane last week with this 19 year old boy and we were joking around about something and he said something like "good thing or the plane would blow up". I just looked at him and said he should be careful what he says on a plane. He finally got it after a couple minutes and said I was right, he should be more careful with what he says.

Kids

I usually wait until they get up to my window, put this glazed-over, far away look in my eyes, tilt my head to the left and say: "You're gonna look in the trunk. Aren't you?"

UFR

"The deputy asked him if he had any knives or sharps."

Just why would he ask that ? I mean really. They search everone who walks in the door ? Or was he going to bail someone out and was going to be admitted to the holding area ?

Hey, I am just asking. I bet they do in Macedonia, Ohio. Went to bail someone out and they require a SSN from everyone who walks in that building. if I ever go postal, I might just start there. Bunch of motherfuckers.

T^T

I don't even know him, but I like the kid already!

LOL yes he was bailing someone out. He is such a funny kid to begin with, Ha I call him a kid but he is 20 or 21 now. I am not sure when his birthday is. But anyways he is always smiling and joking around and I could see how he would think that would be funny but the sheriff deputies would not. OY.

He is adorable. His mother is... I don't know. She has damaged all of her children horribly but somehow he managed to come out of her house with this happy attitude. He knows that we claimed him as part of our family so he walks in and raids the fridge just like part of the family, often with some funny story of what he did that day. If I had a daughter his age I would be planning. ;)

Like a dumbass.....back in 2004 or so, at an airport in Southern Cal, I'm on my way back to Seattle, ticket girl says..."any sharps or weapons in your bags?" (mine were carry on), and of course....I stupidly said (a perfectly rational, then 45 year old) said...."Nope...nothing other than this Luger, some sparklers and a healthy box of matches"...

I IMMEDIATELY realized (even before her lips turned down, or the words finished leaving my mouth)...., trying to be funny...."JJ....you just fucked up BIG time...prepare to be fucked in the ass with NO GREASE".

I ABRUPTLY (within milliseconds) apologized like a bawling baby, she smirked, knowing I was being a smartass, and said "you're pretty stupid....however, I'm still going to let you get on the plane, but if you ever do that shit again, I'll have you hauled off to the airport jail and, just for the record....we don't even have to call your parents....you'll be there for a week before they even know where you went".

Smart chic, knew the lesson was as well received as if I'd been taken to jail....maybe even more so.

I'm guessing your oldest boys BF learned the same lesson that day.

Don't be a dumb ass or a smart ass in today's world.

(Didn't happen again. EVER).

Moonlightmaddnes -> RE: What not to say at the sheriffs department (7/8/2013 8:48:01 PM)

hahahahahahaha. LOL!!!!

My oldest son's name is Jack. We would joke to never say hi Jack in an airport. He still groans and rolls his eyes when he is reminded of that tired old joke.[:D]

littlewonder -> RE: What not to say at the sheriffs department (7/8/2013 8:52:40 PM)

Termy,

Lots of police stations and other high security areas will ask you if you have anything sharp or dangerous on you as they wave the wand over you because they don't have full body scanners or metal detectors at the door. Or if the person beeped on his way through the detector they will ask as they pat you down. It's just a precaution thing.

Kana -> RE: What not to say at the sheriffs department (7/9/2013 5:01:40 AM)

I have a friend, long time ago when he was a stupid kid, he got pulled over for drinking and driving. The cop was a chica, kinda hot, and when she approached the car and asked if he had been drinking, he replied, "I guess a blowjob is out of the question, then, huh?"

Yeah, that was sooooooo not the thing to say :-)

Marc2b -> RE: What not to say at the sheriffs department (7/9/2013 8:03:23 AM)

I don't know who first said it (so all due credit to whoever credit is due) but it has been said that there are only two things wrong with young people:

1) They think they know everything.

2) They don't know anything.

That's arrogance combined with ignorance. At best it can be amusing, at worst... tragic.

ShaharThorne -> RE: What not to say at the sheriffs department (7/9/2013 8:30:50 AM)

One thing I know about Lizard...she does not pull this kind of shit. She might've pulled some stuff in school but it did not deal with weapons or smart assed remarks.

Now I tell her that if a certain person comes around the place, just call the cops. She does not need a druggie hanging around there.

Right!! Oh I have one of those right now. I thought 17 was bad, this is worse!! He is an adult now and thinks oooo I am an adult so I know even more. He tried driving without insurance. I tried to warn him but of course I am just mom. I dont know anything. He got busted and lost his license for a month. I told him not to drive, of course I am just mom again. So now every cop in this town of 1,000 people knows he has no license and no insurance. He has a car that anyone can spot. There is never any wondering if that is my kid. So what does he do?? He drove!!! On a suspended license and no insurance and not for the first time. OMG this kid is going to drive me to drink! What the hell made him think he could get away with driving in a town this small? Even if it is a new cop the ones already here warn them of who to look out for. Someone asked me why I didn't take his car away from him. LOL LOL LOL he is 20 years old and does not live at home. I cant ground him and take his car away from him anymore.

LOL!! I have a friend that when she gets pulled over she hikes her skirt up and pulls her shirt down then flirts her ass off. I had to hold my breath to keep from laughing the last time. I told her as we were driving away with her written warning to slow down that one day she was going to get a married cop who didn't give a shit at how well she could flirt. She shrugged like she didn't believe that day would ever come. LOL

ShaharThorne -> RE: What not to say at the sheriffs department (7/9/2013 8:47:17 AM)

Moon, she might get a female officer one of these days...
