If people are going to quote Lucian, could they make an effort not to misprision or mangle the Satires?
Fucking Alan Moore. Cunt needs a slap, and not just from Grant Morrison...

Congratulations on starting the most incomprehensible thread on this forum, ever, Moonhead. It takes a Brit to do that well.

"Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?" (Lucian's sixth satire)
Three or four people have misquoted the translation over the last leek. Clear now?

Thanks for clarifying. You saved me from doing a 'deep google' on Swiss supervisors in the watch factories.

Actually, I think that people are well enough aware of the original quote, just not understanding this particular rant in relation to that (perhaps they are not familiar with the watchpersons referenced in the OP, and then no reference to the particular manglement in question).

In any case, people do complain sometimes about the lack of timely moderation from moderators in this and other assorted forums.

But I would ask further: just Who is it that is modding the Mods in this affair?

Sorry old bean, but the fact the fuckin thing is in Latin should lead you to Juvenal's, and not Lucian's Satires on this auspicious occasion, for the quote. You see; the old poofter was Greek, old Lucian was.........and wrote only in Greek.

Although there is some fussing on that, but I think it is confusion only, It is Juvenal's VI. Or they would have bloody said it in Greek, innit? So, cavil at a horse apiece, cuz your saying Lucian does hold some commerce with the heathen amongst us.

But yer heart was in the right place, even if yer gub weren't!!!!

Rorschach.

Yes. The solution, obviously, is to not to try quoting these translations whilst eating ones vegetables.

Moonhead, would you like people to stop adding to this thread to save you the embarrassment? Just say so if that's the case.

It's probably above 15C where Moonhead is in the Frozen North. 16 degrees or more is officially a killer heatwave up there. The lad must be suffering, if not already turned Japanese.
